A companion to ACTi cameras

There is no all-purpose CCTV camera. The comparison below allows to choose an optimum camera for a specific application, from the wide range manufactured by ACTi. The cameras have been grouped according to resolution - megapixel, D1, VGA. Megapixel cameras are quickly gaining popularity. They set new quality standards in video monitoring, not achievable in previous systems based on analog cameras and typical DVRs. IP CCTV systems are still gaining popularity. The main cause of this phenomenon is practically unlimited image resolution, which means that any area can be watched by a camera with any available resolution, up to many megapixels. In systems based on analog cameras, image resolution could not exceed 720 x 576 pixels, i.e. about 0.4 Mpx. Popular ACTi cameras operate at the resolution of 1.3 Mpx, at least three times better.
