It is an auto-iris lens (DC Drive) with manual focal length control. The length is adjustable from 2.8 to 12 mm. This range allows fast and easy selection of desirable angle of view. For instance, the angle of view of a camera with a 1/3" sensor can be adjusted from 82o to about 23o.
