The CT-311 R81715 channel converter is one of the optional modules that can be mounted in Terra MMH-3000 headends (in the base unit UC-380 R81700). The converter is used to change the original analog TV / DVB-T or DVB-C RF channel in order to ensure optimum channel plan in the distribution network, or - in the case of older cabling not capable of operating within (whole) UHF band - to shift the original channel to a lower one.
The device is not a trans-modulator - it does not change any parameters of the original signal except for the RF channel.
Transmodulation of terrestrial TV signals is performed by other modules designed for use in the MMH-3000 headend: ttx-311 R81714 (COFDM-COFDM - regeneration of a digital TV multiplex and optionally conversion of its frequency and filtering some programs) and rt-316 R81707 (OFDM receiver / PAL modulator).
The CT-311 R81715 channel converter can power an antenna preamplifier (12 VDC / 100 mA max).
The module, similarly to all components of TERRA headend, can be configured using free Terra Link or paid CMH Master R81706 software.
Features:
- conversion of the received RF channel (carrying analog PAL channel, DVB-T mux, or DVB-C mux) into another one,
- double conversion technology,
- high selectivity (two switchable IF SAW filters),
- input stage with AGC,
- input signal level and C/N measurement,
- RF loop,
- low level of harmonics and intermodulation products in the output signal.

Electrostatic discharge caution
The module contains electrostatic sensitive components. To minimize electrostatic discharge, observe the following precautions:
- Do not remove module from its anti-static plastic bag until you are ready to install it into the base unit.
- Hold the module only by its front panel.
- Do not place the module on an unprotected surface. Immediately after you remove the module from the base unit, you must insert it into its anti-static plastic bag.
- When the module is not in use, keep it in its anti-static plastic bag.
- Do not ship or store the module or base unit in/near strong electrostatic, electromagnetic or radioactive fields.
