Code: N2510
The set contains AC/DC adapter and CD with software AirCA8-PRO - the successor of popular CA8-4 ("soapbox") The Access Point AirCA8-PRO operates on 2.4 and 5 GHz. It is equipped with 3 LAN ports and integrated internal antenna, but also enables connection of an external antenna via the standard SMA/RP socket. Due to large size of FLASH (4 MB) and SDRAM (32 MB) memory the device ensures stable work and possibility of implementation of more advanced software. To start configuration of the device the user should connect with AP at the URL address http://192.168.1.1 via WEB browser. When the preparations have been done properly, it will be displayed startup screen containing pop-down menu that enables direct access to configuration and diagnostic tools. There is possibility of adjustment of ACK Timeout, which decides on the maximum range of the link. It is defined by the formula : ACK = 23 + d/150, where 'd' means the distance in meters between antennas of the devices. The parameter determines the period of time when the base station awaits a response from the other device. Simply, longer time is needed for bigger distance. Update of firmware allows for work in AP Client mode. Return to AP mode is possible after loading again the adequate AP firmware. The default address of the device in AP mode is 192.168.1.1, and for AP Client mode is 192.168.1.2. The basic configuration can be performed via a browser, there is also possibility of advanced configuration via telnet. As an example - to change Regulatory Domain to Poland it is needed to log on via telnet and input the command: z_debug wlanrd write 616 (ENTER), then input the command The device ensures many options of data encryption and protection of WLAN:
- deactivation of SSID,
- support of WEP (Wireless Encryption Protocol) with the key 64, 128 or 156 bit long,
- filtration of MAC addresses of client stations,
- support of Radius server,
- support of WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key) and WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access),
- 802.1x,
- WEP protocol supports keys containing 64, 128 and 152 bits. There is possibility of setting time interval after which the keys will be changed.
- WPA protocol uses TKIP and/or CCMP (AES) encryption
