The way we strip a cable not only depends on its size, but also on the kind of connector. It is very important to keep the proper length of the insulating layer which is removed from the cable, of the conducting sheath, insulating spacer, and the length of the inner conductor. The dimensions are precisely defined for each kind of connector and have to be strictly maintained to keep up with industry standards.

The connector is employed in RF applications (50 ohm) up to 11 GHz, with RG58 cable. It complies with FCC (Federal Communications Commission) requirements and is used mainly in the USA. It is currently applied in RF equipment of the American Proxim, Access Points of Linksys and in many other RF devices.
