Fiber optic video converter ULTIMODE V-024D allows to transmit four video channels and one telemetry data channel (RS-485) via one multimode optic fiber up to 2 km.

The ULTIMODE V-024D video converter uses the latest optical technology. It ensures transmission via multimode optical fiber of 4 video channels and 1 one-way RS-485 data channel (in opposite direction - from the video receiver to the video transmitter). It is possible due to the use of wavelength-division multiplexing technology (WDM) - different wavelengths of laser light to carry different signals, over one strand of fiber. It significantly lowers installation costs. The L2402 set contains 2 modules - video transmitter marked "T" and video receiver marked "R" - and 2 power supplies (output: 12VDC/3A).
The transmitter transmits optical signal in the second transmission window (1310 nm), whereas the receiver (for transmitting telemetry data) uses the first window (850 nm). Sensitivity of the receiver and output power of the transmitter is adapted to transmit information up to 2 km. Durable laser diode with Fabry-Perot resonator ensures the mean-time-between-failure (MTBF) at least of 100000 hours (more than 11 years).
The set is compatible with NTSC/PAL/SECAM systems and ensures high quality transmission of live video over distances up to 2 km, much longer than those offered by standard devices. The possibility of sending control signal (RS-485) from the video receiver to the video transmitter allows to use PTZ cameras.

NOTICE!! It is not allowed to look directly at the fiber port when the device is plugged. The radiation invisible for the human eye can damage the retina!
Why to choose fiber optics:
- possibility of sending signal over long distances (low attenuation of optical fibers - e.g. for the wavelength of 1550 nm the attenuation is about 0.2 dB per kilometer, which means that the signal can be sent at a distance of 200km - without regeneration)

ULTIMODE video converters are widely used for the transmission of CCTV signals over long distances and in areas exposed to harsh weather conditions. Optical fibers provide full electrical insulation and resistance to electromagnetic interference. Below there is a sample application of ULTIMODE V-024D converter.
