The RF amplifier AWS-1142 has been designed for applications in individual and community antenna installations (MATV systems). The former use requires to employ an antenna branch filter/diplexer to combine the received channels. The amplifier can pass supplying voltage (12V) to preamplifiers. For this purpose one needs to short the jumper, as it is shown in the included instructions.

The set also includes regulated AC/DC adapter (output: 12V/120mA, Jack: 3.5 mm), but it is possible to power the amplifier through its output, via coaxial cable, using other supplier with RF/DC separator, e.g. D0010. Notice: in this case it is necessary to calculate the current capacity of power supply taking into consideration preamplifier(s). The AWS-114x series includes 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-out versions. In comparison to its predecessor AWS-14x, there has been changed the way of gain adjustment - it is now made after the first stage of amplification - instead of the input. It has considerably improved noise parameters of the latest series.

The AWS-114x series is put into cast metal housing that perfectly shields against external interferences. AWS-1142 allows to equalize cable attenuation by 3 dB.

Adjustments are made after removing the upper part of the housing - it saves the amplifier from incidental interference of non-authorized persons. The amplifier should be used indoors.
