The included software allows previewing of video stream in full screen or a great number of channel patterns (apart from standard divisions (2x2, 3x3, 4x4), the signal from each camera can be viewed in a separate window or it can be hidden).

The card has a built-in motion detection system which is programmed for each individual camera. The software allows a whole array of settings regarding HDD data storage. Video image parameters (resolution, compression), recording method (continuous, according to time/date, motion-detected activation), recording destination ( local host or one of the nodes operating within a network).

There is built-in WWW/FTP server for network environment. The card makes it possible not only to store live feed from cameras on different computers but it also allows to preview each camera within a network and to send alarm messages (image, text) to a monitoring center (GeoVision cards can be used to build several monitoring systems that are supervised from a monitoring center).

GeoVision offers a great number of functions regarding search and retrieval of video archive, playback at various speeds, zoom capabilities, etc.

Another great option is that GeoVision cards can incorporate other modules such as GV I/O, RS485, PIR sensors, and others, which greatly facilitates expansion of a monitoring system (additional modules are optional and not included).

Cards GV 600 and 800 have a built-in WatchDog which ensures that in case of system failure or some problems, the normal system operation can be resumed.

The manufacturer of the GeoVision cards offers a great variety of cards having from 2 through 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, to max. 16 inputs and differing in recording speed.

The GV-250 series offers the recording rate of 16fps , GV-600 series - 25 fps for all cameras. GV-800 series, which is also available, has the recording rate of 100fps. Performance of the cards depends on the computer hardware; the best performance is achieved on computers equipped with Pentium III processors (at least 500MHz, 128MB RAM), AMD Duron, and Athlon. The card comes with a sophisticated software that ensures a wide array of system configuration : processes regarding previews, records, and archive retrieval.

Depending on the type, the cards work under MS Windows 98/ME/2000/XP operating systems.
