The DVR features video motion detection. The detection areas are defined on a rectangular grid. Using "External I/O" on the rear panel it is also possible to connect external alarm sensors.
Use of video motion detection allows to increase recording time considerably - there are recorded only alarm events. However, this mode is useful only for low-traffic areas (e.g. emergency exit, building interior at night etc.)
Notice! To protect the system itself, the alarm event activates recording in all channels.
Picture parameters, i.e. brightness, contrast, and saturation, can be set for each channel independently.
The DVR can simultaneously provide live images, play archive files, stream video in the network, and backup data onto an external carrier.
There can be used two hard disc, up to 400 GB each. In this case a DVD writer is not anticipated (no space). But using only one HDD, it is possible to employ DVD recorder drive (there will be needed adequate hole in the housing).
The main advantage of the DVR is smooth network operation. Thanks to MPEG-4 compression, video transmission does not require so wide band as in the case of many other DVRs.
Remote access can be used by IE or client program. The manufacturer also provides free multi-client software pack - allowing to manage several recorders from the family.
Apart from features listed above, the recorder possesses one more key function. It is possible to define two different image qualities, this one which is suitable for local recording (usually of higher definition), and that one which is sufficient for distribution via the Internet. The function is very essential when line speed is relatively low - conscious choice of quality allows to transmit the images smoothly, whereas local good-quality recording ensures proper identification and analysis capability of the archival data.
The search of archival recordings is similar to other DVRs - according to the date and time or alarm events. There are available various speeds of searching, both forwards and backwards.
Review of archives can be exercised directly on the DVR, or on a PC with dedicated software. Transfer/backup of the data is carried out via USB port (possibility of connecting external flash memory or USB HDD).
Notice! Direct connection of the DVR to a PC is not allowed.
The recorder has been equipped with remote controller. This device is also the keyboard of the DVR - for that function it is fastened onto the front panel. When it is taken out, the management of the DVR is nor possible - it provides additional protection against unauthorized operation.
