MPEG-4 compression gives a high resolution image quality. The CAM-5120 Day and Night IP Camera adopts MPEG-4 Advanced Simple Profile (ASP) compliant compression technology to perform Full D1 resolution. It utilizes the premium 1/3" SONY Exview HAD CCD sensor, and has horizontal resolution of 480 TV lines. With Super Gain Control mechanism, it will switch to color and monochrome picture automatically. The real-time image transmission is 30 fps (720 x 480 pixels, NTSC) and 25 fps (720 x 576 pixels, PAL). It allows for recording video material with high resolution, close to regular DVD quality.
Aside from possibilities of automatic control of DC Iris, or proportional to lighting, the camera is also equipped with a set of switches allowing to adjust back-light compensation, white balance, auto gain control, and flickering compensation - for current conditions.
Advanced network technologies enable real-time surveillance. The camera CAM-5120 is equipped with LAN and WAN ports, and uses QoS (Quality of Service, IEEE 802.1pQ) in order to fully utilize accessible bandwidth. It has possibility of manual or automatic control over the number of transmitted frames in the case of concurrent video streams.
Owing to MPEG-4 ASP compliant video compression and QoS platform, CAM-5120 gives images having quality of good analog systems, with immense flexibility of digital device. Transmission via LAN or WAN enables the user to control the observed area. With advanced MPEG-4 ASP and QoS-enabled streaming, the CAM-5120 delivers smooth analog-video like transmission over LAN or WAN to reach true remote video surveillance goal.
CAM-5120 of ACTi Corporation not only supports DDNS, but has also built-in webserver enabling the authorized users to preview images in real-time mode, as well as to change camera settings - all with use of standard internet browser.
An advanced feature of ACTi cameras is so called Digital Time Code Embedded. It means embedded time markers in the MPEG-4 stream, informing about the time of registration. It makes possible precise finding of frames according to exact time. Other advantage of this feature is producing a kind of "watermarks" that make impossible to take any attempts of modification of recorded material - it would be easily recognized.
Configuration of the camera is quite easy and nearly intuitive. The important advantage of all ACTi devices is uniform user's interface. This way, the installation of software and managing of wide variety of ACTi products does not require additional effort.
Furthermore, the products of ACTi Corporation are supported by dedicated WWW service, enabling to download newest, updated versions of software, initially provided with the camera. The software allows for recording and remote access to control functions - setting via remote web browsers, and live viewing of monitored places.
