Outdoor Color CCTV Camera: VF-515 IR/B (520 TVL, Sony Super HAD CCD, 4-9mm, IR 30m)
Rear view - the location of adjusting elements (zoom, focus)
VF-515 IR/B is outdoor color surveillance camera equipped with manually-operated varifocal lens and IR illuminator.
- compact outdoor housing
- superior SONY Super HAD 520 TVL sensor
- varifocal lens 4.0 - 9.0 mm (external adjustment of focal length and focus)
- IR illuminator (36 LEDs)
The camera uses very good 1/3" SONY Super HAD sensor and provides images with increased resolution (520TVL). Higher resolution of the images allows to see better more distant objects and use some digital zoom, which is practically impossible in the case of cheap cameras with resolutions 330 - 420 TVL.

A strong point of the camera is manually adjustable lens (viewing angle from 29 to 67 degrees). The adjustment is made without a need of dismantling the housing. It enables the installer to quickly correct the focal length and focus. The adjustments are made with two screws located in the rear part of the housing.
Notice: the screws are covered with hole plugs - they have to be put in place again. Possibility of changing focal length is a very convenient option - in most of compact cameras there is no possibility of changing the original lens, due to the risk of losing both watertightness and warranty.
During the day the camera renders true colors. It works very well in darkness with IR lighting, in B/W mode (IR illuminator switches on at 3 lx). The IR illuminator is really powerful - its range is 20-30 m. This feature requires careful positioning of the camera and objects with large surfaces that can reflect back the IR light. It could blind the camera. This is the reason why the camera cannot be used in small rooms (the distance to the opposite wall should be over 3-4 m).
The camera has been designed for outdoor operation. The cables are terminated with standard connectors: BNC (video) and 2.1/5.5mm (power).
Specially designed bracket allows to insert the cables directly into the wall. It effectively protects them against damaging.
There is also the possibility of leading the cables out of the bracket, after removing hole plugs. This solution may be useful in less dangerous areas, with use of additional installation boxes.
The camera is equipped with a rainshield that can also protect it against direct sunlight. The movable shield should be set in a position that does not cause reflections of the IR light from the built-in illuminator.
Besides the advantages mentioned above, the camera can be easily mounted. It is enough to connect the cables and adjust the focal length (zoom) and focus. There is no need of mounting additional connectors, unscrewing the housing, or going through a complicated menu. It saves a lot of time.
