The T1700G-28TQ L2+ managed switch is designed to build a stable and scalable Ethernet network. The switch is equipped with 24 gigabit RJ-45 ports and four 10-gigabit SFP+ slots, making it extremely flexible for building and expanding fast Ehernet networks. It can also support advanced Layer 2+ routing.With True Physical Stacking Technology, up to six T1700G-28TQ units can be stacked with a single IP address. This provides enhanced scalability, simple management, and increased redundancy for high-density deployment, especially in corporate networks.

With True Physical Stacking Technology, up to six T1700G-28TQ units can be stacked with a single IP address, allowing for the simplification of the network with up to 144 Gigabit Ethernet ports and up to 24 10G SFP+ slots per stack. The bidirectional bandwidth of up to 40 Gbps ensures high scalability and efficient redundancy wit automatic failover. The stack can provide up to 768 Gbps of switching capacity for aggregated networks, guarantying advanced scalability, simple management, and increased redundancy for high-density deployment.
In order to increase the number of possible applications of T1700G-28TQ switches, the traffic management functions in the second layer include: support for VLAN 802.1Q, port isolation, port mirroring, STP/RSTP/MSTP, port aggregation, 802.3x Flow Control. Additionally, the switch is equipped with a number of maintenance functions, such as detection of loop back connections, cable diagnostics, and IGMP snooping. The IGMP snooping function allows intelligent management of multicast traffic by making it available only for some subscribers, together with IGMP throttling and IGMP filtering features that effectively block access to the multicast traffic for unauthorized users. The T1700G-28TQ switch also supports L2+ static routing.
IP-MAC-Port-VID Binding, Port Security, Storm Control, DHCP Snooping and IP Source Guard functions protect against network attacks. The administrator can define some typical DoS attacks that will be easily detected, improving security levels. Access Control Lists (ACL, L2 to L4) feature restricts access to sensitive network resources by denying some packets, based on source and destination MAC address, IP address, TCP/UDP ports or even VLAN ID. Additionally, the switch supports 802.1X authentication, which is used in conjunction with a RADIUS server to get some authentication information before allowing access to the network. Guest VLAN function can provide access for non-802.1X clients to some specific network resources.
To integrate voice, data and video services in one network, the switch implements advanced QoS policies. The administrator can define the priority of the traffic based on a variety of means including port priority or 802.1P and DSCP protocols.
The T1700G-28TQ switch is easy to use and manage. It supports both user-friendly, intuitive web-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) and Command Line Interface (CLI). The administration traffic can be protected through SSL or SSH encryption. The support for SNMP (v1/2/3) and RMON enables the switch to provide valuable status information and send traps on abnormal events. Extensive IPv6 management capabilities allow for seamless migration of the network to this standard. The switch also supports Dual Image function.
