allowing to integrate local analog CCTV systems with city surveillance based on wired, wireless, and fiber-optic networks. The data is recorded locally on ULTIMAX DVRs and is accessible (in the scope set by the administrator) through IP network. The operator of the city video surveillance system can watch and record the images from analog, IP, and megapixel cameras. The system supports ULTIMAX DVRs and majority of video servers and IP cameras (including megapixel devices) available in the market.
![]() | is a platform that connects the highest quality hardware and software. |
The hardware includes: ULTIMAX DVRs (as digital video/audio recorders and IP severs providing video and audio in IP networks), ULTINET video servers, IP cameras operating in standard (D1) resolution and megapixel cameras of ULTICAM. ULTIMAX DVRs have been manufactured to DIPOL order by HIKVISION - the world leader in modern CCTV equipment.
The ULTISYSTEM software is a unique solution in the world, which allows to integrate local monitoring systems with city surveillance. It eliminates the need of using dedicated applications, integrating IP cameras from leading manufacturers and analog cameras cooperating with ULTIMAX DVRs.
ULTISYSTEM is a scalable solution that perfectly fits the needs of the organizers of small monitoring systems (e.g. in schools), through larger projects like stadium surveillance, right up to the most advanced and extensive systems covering entire cities. In each case it minimizes the costs of installing and running video surveillance system, providing technical means for central management from one Monitoring Center.

Software integrating all elements of the platform
ULTISYSTEM software packages are professional NVR (Network Video Recorder) programs for integrating IP CCTV systems based on transmission of video stream in Ethernet networks. Video surveillance system managed by the software can integrate all kinds of IP CCTV devices (IP cameras, video servers, DVRs). Thanks to video servers and ULTIMAX DVRs, there may be used any analog cameras, too. A distinctive feature of the software is focus on the use of modern megapixel cameras.
The software can be run on any modern PC using Windows XP or Vista OS, suitable for network video recording. ULTISYSTEM can manage up to 32 channels on one server. The number of channels depends on the specific software package (license).
Depending on the set of connected devices, the ULTISYSTEM software packages allow:
- monitoring and system management -
- live video streaming from any cameras, in any screen division,
- sequential switching of cameras and screen divisions,
- e-map functionality,
- remote audio surveillance option,
- intercom,
- digital zoom of images from any camera,
- control of PTZ cameras,
- control of relay outputs,
- monitoring of alarm inputs.
Due to clear user interface, the program allows the operator to easily monitor all locations and hear the sound, as well as to configure the cameras, control PTZ devices and relay outputs, monitor the states of alarm inputs. PTZ cameras can be controlled via keyboard, mouse, or USB joystick (K9153). After application of devices equipped with loudspeakers, the software enables the operator to use intercom functionality. An important advantage is possibility of using e-map that simplifies administration of large systems. This tool allows to represent deployment of the cameras on the map of the monitored building, area, region, country etc. Aside from the deployment of the cameras, it simultaneously shows information on alarms, loss of connection etc.
- flexible recording -
- maximum recording capacity depends only on the installed disc space,
- recording in motion detection, continuous, or schedule mode.
Time schedule enables the operator to define the periods (days of the week and time intervals) of continuous recording, recording triggered by motion detection, change of the state of alarm inputs, sound detection. Aside from video recording, the program allows to record sound from each channel. An interesting feature is possibility of triggering video/audio recording after detection of sound - it provides a new functionality besides the typical motion detection.
- playback of recordings -
- choice of recordings according to date and time (year/month/day/time),
- synchronous playback of recordings of any number of channels,
- standard functions (playback, pause, fast backward and forward etc.),
- searching of recordings triggered by motion detection in specified area,
- digital zoom,
- capturing of pictures,
- export of recorded streams to AVI format,
- picture adjustments.
The program provides sophisticated but simple to use tools for managing the archives. For each channel it creates time list that can be used for quick search of an interesting event. The search can also be made for recordings triggered by motion detection in specified area (by choosing the camera and selecting the area). The recordings in the areas of interest can be exported to JPEG format (pictures) or short AVI files. There is possibility of adjusting picture parameters of the video material.
- security -
- possibility of defining any access level to any user of the system,
- possibility of blocking access to operating system,
- possibility of backup (on a local backup server of Ultisystem or on other computer connected to the network).
ULTISYSTEM software packages stand out above other products in high security levels both in the case of access to the surveillance suite and the host operating system, as well as to the archives that can be additionally protected against loss or manipulation by network backup.
- network services -
- possibility of connecting up to 1000 client stations with client software (monitoring, management, playback),
- mobile access to the images on PDAs and cell phones (JAVA),
- possibility of posting video on a website (http server).
The free client software enables the operator of a client station to connect to the NVR server in order to manage the channels, perform live monitoring, review the recordings - still keeping all server functions. Mobile users can connect to the system via VDR-C Mobile utility that is compatible with handhelds based on Symbian and Windows Mobile systems. An interesting feature is possibility of automatic connection to client station in the case of an alarm. Thanks to the possibility of embedding video from any channel on a website, the system can also perform marketing tasks.
- management/configuration over/of -
- configuration wizard,
- task schedule,
- camera/channel setup,
- audio setup,
- alarm inputs,
- relay outputs,
- network services,
- archives (hard drives),
- use accounts,
- PTZ devices,
- e-map,
- system options,
- advanced console,
- other program options.
The program has very extensive administration panel ensuring access to advanced configuration tools, being easy to use. The panel also allows to change some system settings (Windows).

ULTISYSTEM integrates DVRs in IP networks

ULTIMAX is a series of 3rd generation digital video recorders, with implemented, so far the most efficient, H.264 compression. This type of deep compression is characterized by capability of providing good video quality at substantially lower bitrates than the previous standards. The newest standard is specified by ISO 14496-10 and uses Advanced Video Coding (AVC). The role of the new coding profile is more efficient compression without visible loss of image quality.
ULTIMAX-716 has won a prestigious award - Gold Medal of Intertelecom 2008 for the best product
Any device from the ULTIMAX series has both the features of a digital video recorder (DVR) and digital video server (DVS). It can work as stand-alone device, or be used to build powerful surveillance networks managed by a ULTISYSTEM suite. These very versatile, flexible, and reliable DVRs, with many special options, are widely used in banks (including cooperation with POS terminals and ATM/cash machines), telecommunication companies, transportation, factories, warehouses, offices, businesses etc.
