The panel antenna ATK-P4/5 is multi-element microstrip device designed for use in professional wireless networks. The applications include client stations within 1-4 km distance from base station, small base stations and point-to-point links (up to several kilometers) used for creating WLAN backbone. The front part of the antenna case is made of durable ABS plastic resistant to UV radiation and adverse weather conditions, The whole housing is watertight.
One of vital elements of each wireless system is the antenna. Its parameters and characteristics have fundamental significance for the general performance of the whole system. They directly influence quality of transmission and the area of effective operation, possibility of creating desired configuration of the network. The antennas should be light, durable, and easy to mount.
Microstrip antennas are well prepared for operation in WLAN systems.They ensure easy installation, nice look, and first of all - good electrical parameters for affordable price. ATK-P4/5.5 has flat gain characteristic and features good matching in the whole 5150-5850 MHz band.
In 5 GHz band there are used not only devices compliant to IEEE 802.11a standard, but also professional wireless systems that are not standardized. This band is also anticipated for using by 802.16 (WiMAX) devices. The is the reason why the 5 GHz band seems to be very prospective, especially for non-licensed solutions for "last mile" area.
