Details

Terra TDX-441 R81614 DVB-S/S2 to DVB-T transmodulator is used for reception of DVB-S/S2 (8PSK/QPSK) signals, selection of desired channels and retransmission of them in COFDM format in chosen RF channels in VHF/UHF frequency range. The device allows the user to receive and manage a range of free to air satellite channels. One TDX-441 R81614 panel can receive channels from eight satellite transponders and convert selected channels into four neighboring DVB-T multiplexes, each with maximum throughput of 31.66 Mbps. In practice, each of the four multiplexes can carry 6 SD channels or 2-3 HD channels. The administrator of the system selects the required channels from the satellite streams and forms four DVB-T multiplexes. In each case, it is neceeesary to remember about 10% safety margin when determining the maximum bit rate for the whole multiplex (typically the ultimate bit rate of a multiplex should not exceed 29 Mbps). The output DVB-T COFDM multiplexes are usually distributed to users by a passive network composed of RF splitters/taps. Such a solution is especially convenient in modern hotel TV systems distributing a variety of satellite channels, including HD broadcasts.
Thanks to RJ-45 Ethernet port, the programming of the TDX-441 R81614 panel is performed via a web browser.
The TDX-441 R81614 unit is dedicated for receiving FTA satellite channels. In the case of encrypted channels, the suitable model is TDX-420C R81619.
A great advantage of the Terra device is easy integration with other components:
  • dSCR/Unicablemultiswitches, which enable independent distribution of DVB-S/S2 signal using one cable
  • streamers IPTV - enable distribution and management of satellite, terrestrial and DVB cable TV offerings via Ethernet (LAN) based on a twisted-pair cable
  • opticaltransmitters - transmit television signals using fibre-optic medium
  • devices designed for reception and processing of television signals (channel and broadband amplifiers, analogue and digital modulators)
The R81614 units can be mounted on the R82538 or R82539 DIN rail (also in a RACK cabinet) and powered from DR-60-12 R82532 or UP413 R82533 power supply.
Key features:
  • conversion of DVB-S/S2 signal from eight satellite transponders to 4 DVB-T COFDM multiplexes
  • reception of eight satellite transponders and conversion to any four DVB-T multiplexes
  • TDX-441 creates four contiguous DVB-T multiplexes (4 DVB-T MUXes, each with a maximum capacity of 31.66 Mbit/s)
  • channel selection and filtering of unnecessary services in the digital stream
  • compatible with multiswitch series dSCR/Unicable
  • simple control interface via RJ-45 port, which greatly simplifies the installation procedure
  • management via Internet
  • reading of event history (logs) from the panel
  • AGC (automatic gain control) function

The TDX-441 R81614 transmodulator creates four neighboring DVB-T multiplexes with channels selected from eight satellite transponders. With these parameters, the maximum bandwidth of each of the four DVB-T multiplexes is 31.66 Mbps, in compliance with the DVB-T standard.
