A short guide to MMH-3000 TERRA design

The first step
First of all the installer should get information about the satellite channels that are to be distributed in the system. It is important to determine if some of the channels are encrypted or coming from the same transponder.
The second step
If the set of channels contains encrypted programs coming from one transponder, which can be decoded by a single card, the following group of modules should be installed in the UC-380 R81700 base unit:
  • RD-313C R81710 (QPSK CI Receiver) - 1pc.
  • DM-313 R81712 (MPEG-2 TS Decoder/VSB Modulator) - the same quantity as the number of the programs received from the transponder minus one
  • CA module suitable for the smart card - 1pc.
When the set of channels contains unencrypted programs coming from one transponder, the following group of modules should be installed in the UC-380 R81700 base unit:
  • RD-313C R81710 (QPSK CI Receiver) - 1pc.
  • DM-313 R81712 (MPEG-2 TS Decoder/VSB Modulator) - the same quantity as the number of the programs received from the transponder minus one.
In the case of encrypted channels coming from different transponders, there are needed:
  • RD-313C R81710 (QPSK CI Receiver) - 1pc. for each channel
  • CA module suitable for the smart card - the same quantity as the number of received programs.
For distributing additional AV signals there is used:
  • MT-310 R81708 - in the number of distributed AV signals.
To receive unencrypted programs coming from different transponders there are needed:
  • RD-313C R81710 (QPSK CI Receiver) - one piece for each channel.
The third step
For each eight modules there is needed one base unit - UC-380 R81700.
The fourth step
There is needed a 19" RACK with a cooling system. The height of the rack depends on the number of base units (each UC-380 R81700 - 7U).
The fifth step
The headend can be equipped with Data bus/USB interface UD-104 (R81704) or Remote Control Interface PCS-200 (R81716). The both devices cooperate with CMH-Master application software for TERRA MMH-3000 headends (R81706).
