TP-Link TL-WR740N is a wireless router, integrating router, firewall, and access point. It has been designed to provide internet connectivity to small and medium businesses, as well as to private users in apartments and one-family homes. TP-Link TL-WR740N enables the user to build wireless network quickly and easily and to share Internet connection among a number of computers - ensuring additional protection due to built-in firewall.

TP-Link TL-WR740N provides many protective measures:
  • SSID broadcast disable function, limiting the stations to those which use the unique identifier
  • 64/128/152-bit WEP, WPA/WPA2, WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK and TKIP/AES encryption.
The distinctive feature of TL-WR740N is support for 802.11n standard - capability of using data transfer speeds up to 150 Mb/s.
TL-WR740N ensures advanced access control and NAT, its DHCP server supports static assignment of IP addresses. The device also supports virtual servers, DMZ zone, remote logging and management.

Other functions that improve security:
  • access control based on MAC addresses
  • IP, domain and MAC filtering
  • support of UPnP, Dynamic DNS, static routing, VPN pass-through
  • statistics of the traffic generated by computers in the network
  • ICMP-FLOOD, UDP-FLOOD, TCP-SYN-FLOOD filters
  • blockade of ping requests for WAN and LAN interfaces
  • possibility of firmware upgrade
QSS (Quick Secure Setup). This function allows easy configuration of wireless device for communicating with compatible Access Point. Pressing QSS button on the device and the AP, the user triggers automatic configuration of both devices. The whole procedure takes about 10 seconds.
Additional advantage of the device is easy configuration and management.
