The Hikvision DS-2CD4026FWD-AP professional box IP camera belongs to the Darkfighter series, a family of cameras designed for use in extremely low light conditions. The extremely high sensitivity of 0.002 lx in color mode is the result of using large image sensor, 1/1.8'' Progressive Scan CMOS, and advanced image processing functions. The Hikvision DS-2CD4026FWD-A K1714 IP camera provides images with 2 MP resolution at 50/60 fps frame rate. The increased frame rate is helpful in monitoring very dynamic environments. Additionally, hardware wide dynamic range (WDR) with the depth of 120 dB ensures excellent visibility of details in dark and bright parts of the image.

The camera is equipped with HV3816P-8MPIR varifocal lens (3.8-16 mm), belonging to new-generation P-Iris series. Lenses of this series have built-in stepper motor for aperture control. The control is performed by camera software so that to ensure the maximum depth of field and optimum contrast also in difficult lighting conditions.

The camera provides H.264+, H.264, MPEG4 and MJPEG video compression options. The H.264+ algorithm is based on H.264 compression, but optimized for video surveillance. The results are very good, ensuring reduction of the data streams by 50-70%, while maintaining the same image quality compared with the H.264 codec. Three available video streams allow the user to configure the system in a convenient way, depending on the needs. The first and third streams can be set independently (with resolution up to FullHD), whereas the second stream has lower resolution. Additionally, the user can setup up to 4 ROIs (regions of interest). The video data from the ROIs is transmitted with lower compression ratio guarantying more detail without a significant increase of the total bandwidth.

The Darkfighter DS-2CD4026FWD-AP camera belongs to Smart IPC group featuring advanced image analysis functions. In addition to basic alarm events such as motion detection, the advanced functions (e.g. face detection) allow users to create professional IP CCTV systems. After connecting the camera to a Hikvision NVR supporting these functions, the users can easily ans fast search the recordings for the specific events (e.g. crossing a virtual line).
