Compact IP camera PiXORD P300 is used for real-time transmission of video and audio via computer network. Its main application is monitoring of the chosen area on the computer's screen, via local computer network. The computer has to use Microsoft Windows and Windows Internet Explorer. After entering IP address of the camera in the browser, the user can configure the camera and get quality video and sound. Small size of the camera makes it suitable for any application, including a desktop job. The camera can be used indoors only.
Typical application
The camera is also used for:
  • capturing pictures (JPEG or BMP) from the viewed video and saving them on the computer (any moment during watching the video via the browser)
  • viewing images simultaneously with next 3 cameras of PiXORD on one website (requires firmware update)
  • motion detection (in two definable areas) and appropriate action after motion has been detected:
    • recording of the picture on SD card
    • sending the picture to an ftp server
    • sending the picture as e-mail attachment
    • notification of the "listening" server
  • remote viewing of the pictures recorded on the SD card
The pictures are recorded in JPEG format.
P300 is equipped with 1/4'' CMOS sensor (progressive scanning) and 2.6mm lens (with focus adjustment). It has built-in microphone. Both the video and audio have a good quality level. The two LEDs on the front panel inform the user about power and network status. The reset button restores default settings. There are available several connectors:
  • 5V DC - power input connector (AC/DC adapter incl.)
  • USB port (mini) - for connecting to a laptop or a desktop computer (alternative power source)
  • RJ45 - network interface
  • SD (Secure Digital) slot - for recording pictures in motion detection mode
The camera can send to a client up to 15 frames per second at VGA (640 x 480) resolution, or up to 30 frames per second at QVGA or QQVGA resolutions. The video is in MJPEG format, the audio in ADPCM 44kbps form.
Other capabilities of the P300 camera:
  • remote reading of firmware version and MAC address
  • synchronization of date and time with NTP server or the computer
  • assignment of IP address from DHCP server or manual setting (IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, DNS server)
  • PPPoE support
  • change of standard ports (port 80 - http, port 1500 - audio)
  • choice of FTP server (for sending pictures)
  • configuration of e-mail addresses
  • resolution/compression settings, sensitivity of microphone, audio level, audio on/off
  • choosing IP addresses and parameters of other 3 cameras for simultaneous displaying of four images
  • remote management (viewing, deleting) of the pictures recorded on SD card
  • remote restart of the camera and restoration of default settings
  • user management - assignment of access rights (administrator/passive user)
  • DynDNS configuration
  • choice of action after motion has been detected in the active areas
  • configuration of active areas
  • remote firmware update
The included accessories:
  • AC/DC adapter: 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz / 5VDC, 1.4A
  • USB cable - alternative powering of the camera from USB port of a laptop or PC
  • Ethernet patch cable - for connecting the camera to the network (e.g. via a switch)
  • Holder - camera bracket to be mounted on wall or ceiling
