Details
The Dahua IPC-HDW1439V-A-IL camera belongs to the Entry series, a range of solutions designed for small-scale installations where only basic camera functions are required. Despite its low price, the camera delivers good performance both in day mode (high quality, resolution) and in night mode (sensitivity 0.006 lx). A distinctive feature is the hybrid illuminator with intelligent switching, which consists of an IR illuminator and a white light source. You can choose from three low-light modes: IR, white light or smart mode.
Key features:
- resolution: 4 MP – 2560 x 1440 at 25 fps
- fixed focal length lens: 2.8 mm
- hybrid illuminator with intelligent switching
- SMD+ (Smart Motion Detection+) intelligent motion detection
- built-in microphone
- image functions: WDR 120dB, 3D-DNR, ROI, BLC, HLC
- sealed (IP67) housing
- 12 V DC or PoE (802.3af) power supply
Key features:
Hybrid illuminator with intelligent switching
With the default settings, the camera automatically switches to IR illuminated or white light mode. In night mode, the camera operates with the IR illuminator, but when an object is detected in the monitored area, the scene is illuminated with white light. This provides greater identification possibilities (the image is in colour).

Traditional motion detection worked based on changes in the intensity of light reaching a pixel (or larger groups of pixels) of the sensor. Any such change in light triggers detection, so the system catches the movement of objects that are not relevant to security. Such motion detection is sensitive to, for example, the movement of leaves in the wind, passing insects, birds, shadows or precipitation.
The new SMD motion detection system is able to analyse motion detection events for the detection of human or vehicle. This ensures that alarm notifications are filtered and unnecessary alarms are blocked. If you have a system with recording on a compatible NVR, the recordings can be filtered for human or vehicle detection.

Compression is a very important parameter proving the device advancement. The better the compression, the lower the bandwidth requirement with the same subjective quality. H.265 (HEVC - High Efficiency Video Coding) is currently the most efficient compression method. Compared to its predecessor (H.264), it reduces the data stream and the demand for disk capacity by half. Therefore, hard drives with a halved capacity can be used, or recordings can be stored for twice as long. Its improved version H.265+ has been optimized for use in CCTV monitoring systems. They allow for further reduction of data streams.

Obscuring selected areas in the frame is an important element of surveillance systems. For this purpose, the privacy zones function has been introduced in the cameras. It allows certain parts of the camera field of view to be made invisible (masked). Examples of places that require this are: windows of buildings, toilets in school or prison bathrooms, etc. If these places were not masked, personnel with access to the monitoring equipment could violate the privacy of the monitored persons, thus breaking the applicable law.
Mobile client software - DMSS
DMSS is an application for the operation and management of Dahua products on Android and iOS mobile devices. It provides a wide range of possibilities for surveillance and basic configuration: live viewing (including multiple channels simultaneously), PTZ control, digital zoom, eavesdropping, playback of archive recordings and handling of alarm notifications. The app allows connectivity via IP addresses and via P2P cloud.
