Hybrid illuminator with intelligent switching
The camera has four scene lighting modes: infrared, white LED, smart mode and schedule. The default mode is smart mode, in which the camera uses an IR illuminator at night. If an object is detected in the monitored area, the scene is illuminated with white light, enabling a colour image and improving identification capabilities. Once the object leaves the detection zone, the camera automatically returns to IR mode.
The user has full control over the selection of the camera’s operating mode. The schedule option allows for individual planning of the operating times for the selected illuminator. The schedule can be customised on a weekly basis, allowing the camera’s operation to be precisely tailored to the user’s needs.

Traditional motion detection worked based on changes in the intensity of light reaching a pixel (or larger groups of pixels) of the sensor. Compression is a very important parameter proving the device advancement. The better the compression, the lower the bandwidth requirement with the same subjective quality. H.265 (HEVC - High Efficiency Video Coding) is currently the most efficient compression method. Compared to its predecessor (H.264), it reduces the data stream and the demand for disk capacity by half. Obscuring selected areas in the frame is an important element of surveillance systems. For this purpose, the privacy zones function has been introduced in the cameras. It allows certain parts of the camera field of view to be made invisible (masked). Examples of places that require this are: windows of buildings, toilets in school or prison bathrooms, etc. If these places were not masked, personnel with access to the monitoring equipment could violate the privacy of the monitored persons, thus breaking the applicable law.
Client software for mobile devices – DMSS
DMSS is an application that enables the operation and management of Dahua products on Android and iOS mobile devices. It provides a wide range of surveillance and basic configuration options - live viewing (including multiple channels simultaneously), PTZ control, digital zoom, eavesdropping, playback of archive recordings and handling of alarm notifications. The app allows connectivity via IP addresses and via P2P cloud.
