Details

The Dahua IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV-0280B-S5 camera is part of the TiOC 3.0 (Three in One Camera) series. It combines three functions of modern surveillance: IR and white light operating in various modes, AI algorithms, i.e. artificial intelligence capable of analysing events to detect people or vehicles, and active deterrence, i.e. visual and audible alerts generated at the moment an event occurs.
This device captures images at a resolution of up to 8 megapixels and produces high-resolution colour images, even in very low light or complete darkness. Round-the-clock colour performance is achieved through the use of a modern lens, a high-sensitivity sensor and warm white illumination, which ensures a colour image in the absence of sufficient light sources.

Key features:
Hybrid illuminator with intelligent switching

With the default settings, the camera automatically switches between IR illuminator and white light modes. In night mode, the camera operates with the IR illuminator, but when an object is detected in the monitored area, the scene is illuminated with white light. This provides better identification capabilities (the image is in colour). Additionally, the active deterrent function may be activated, consisting of visual (flashing blue and red LEDs) and audible (audio alerts) signals.

Dual microphone

The camera features two microphones arranged in a configuration that improves audio recording quality and extends the range by approximately 7 metres (compared to the previous generation of TiOC). This is handled by a new, specialised integrated circuit dedicated to sound capture and noise reduction. Particular attention has been paid to performance in windy conditions, which can adversely affect the microphone’s performance.
IR exposure correction for F1.0 lens

Infrared and visible light are refracted at different angles, which can cause the image to be out of focus at night. Standard IR correction for lenses with such a large aperture (F 1.0) may not work properly. Hence the special lens design, which ensures accurate reproduction.
SMD 4.0 (Smart Motion Detection 4.0)

Traditional motion detection worked by detecting changes in the intensity of light reaching a pixel (or larger groups of pixels) on the sensor. Any such change in light triggers detection, which is why the system picks up movement from objects that are irrelevant from a security perspective. Such motion detection is sensitive to, for example, leaves rustling in the wind, flying insects, birds, shadows or precipitation.
The new SMD motion detection system can analyse motion detection events to distinguish between people and vehicles. This ensures that alarm notifications are filtered and unnecessary alarms are blocked. If the system records to a compatible NVR, the footage can be filtered to detect either people or vehicles. The SDM 4.0 feature in the camera is an enhanced version of motion detection, based on deep learning algorithms. Event filtering efficiency reaches 99%, and the detection range has doubled.
The Quick Pick feature allows you to quickly locate an object of interest. It works in conjunction with the recorder – when playing back a recording, simply select the object of interest, such as a person or a vehicle. An AI-based algorithm will search for and mark recordings containing objects with a similar colour pattern.
Active deterrence

Active deterrence is a new feature available on Dahua TiOC cameras. Its purpose is to deter intruders through visual and audible alerts. The camera is equipped with additional red and blue LEDs that deter intruders by flashing. Acoustic alerts are delivered via a speaker, which can play specific, pre-defined messages or a customisable audio alarm that you can record yourself. The camera is also fitted with a microphone, so two-way communication with the person at the camera is possible, for example via a smartphone with the client app.
Full-color technology
Full-colour cameras capture high-resolution colour images day and night. They are characterised by a very high sensitivity of 0.003 lux, so that the camera requires low light levels to generate a useful image - street lighting or moonlight is sufficient. This is made possible by fitting a lens with a large F1.0 aperture - more light reaches the sensor. In addition, the more sensitive sensor handles incident light more effectively and the signal processor maintains a balance between noise reduction and blurring of moving objects. If there is insufficient light, the built-in white light illuminator is switched on.
The 24-hour colour image ensures better identification of details of vehicles or people. A particularly important advantage in night-time operation is that there are no reflections from precipitation or insects, which are common problems in IR illuminator operation.
RTMP protocol for transmitting video and audio directly to popular streaming platforms
The camera supports the RTMP (Real-time Streaming Protocol), which is required to connect to popular streaming platforms (YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Twitch, etc.). This allows you to broadcast live to a virtually unlimited audience. It is ideal for broadcasting events such as Masses, church services, sports matches, training sessions or remote learning.
Starlight
The camera is equipped with a high-sensitivity sensor (0.003 lx), which allows it to produce a usable image even in low light conditions. Reduced noise results in better image quality, and compression is also more efficient. The image in daylight conditions features accurate colour reproduction, and the camera itself switches to night mode later than in standard solutions.
Extended Dynamic Range (WDR) 120 dB

Correct operation of surveillance cameras in difficult lighting conditions is one of the top priorities of equipment manufacturers. The dynamic range of the sensor is a parameter which describes the ability of the camera to simultaneously register very bright and dark areas. Cameras with high dynamic range (WDR) perform better when observing frames with high lighting contrast. The image in most WDR-equipped cameras is created by exposing the sensor with different exposure settings (slow shutter for dark elements and fast shutter for bright elements). The resulting image is a combination of both frames and processing based on the algorithms set by the manufacturer.

H.265 compression (+)
Compression is a very important parameter proving the device advancement. The better the compression, the lower the bandwidth requirement with the same subjective quality. H.265 (HEVC - High Efficiency Video Coding) is currently the most efficient compression method. Compared to its predecessor (H.264), it reduces the data stream and the demand for disk capacity by half. Therefore, hard drives with a halved capacity can be used, or recordings can be stored for twice as long. Its improved version H.265+ has been optimized for use in CCTV monitoring systems. They allow for further reduction of data streams.

Privacy zones
Obscuring selected areas in the frame is an important element of surveillance systems. For this purpose, the privacy zones function has been introduced in the cameras. It allows certain parts of the camera field of view to be made invisible (masked). Examples of places that require this are: windows of buildings, toilets in school or prison bathrooms, etc. If these places were not masked, personnel with access to the monitoring equipment could violate the privacy of the monitored persons, thus breaking the applicable law.
PoE power supply
PoE (Power over Ethernet) is the name of the IEEE standard for powering network devices via twisted pair cable while transmitting data. It is possible to supply power to devices such as cameras, telephones, switches, access points, etc. The guaranteed transmission distance for power supply is 100 m. The two most popular standards are 802.03af, which guarantees a minimum power of 12.95 W for end devices, and 802.3at – power of 25.5 W.
