The Dahua NVR2108-8P-4KS3 is a 8-channel IP NVR that allows to record video from IP cameras of up to 12 Mpix resolution. The high input bitrate of 80 Mbps allows it to work effectively with high-resolution cameras. The video recorded by the device can be archived on a single hard drive with a capacity of up to 20 TB. In the event of a memory overflow, automatic overwriting is triggered to prevent loss of the latest data. Built-in USB ports allow users to plug in a memory stick or external drive and copy specific sections to external storage media.
The NVR is equipped with the SMD+ intelligent motion detection function for precise filtering of objects such as people and vehicles. This function can be implemented directly on 4 channels by the NVR or supported by cameras equipped with this functionality on 4 channels.
The app for mobile devices and computers allows easy management from anywhere.

PoE power supply
PoE (Power over Ethernet) is the name of the IEEE standard for powering network devices via twisted-pair cable while transmitting data. It is possible to power devices such as cameras, telephones, switches, access points, etc. The guaranteed distance over which power transmission is carried out is 100 m. The two most popular standards are 802.03af, which guarantees a minimum of 12.95 Watts for end devices, and 802.3at, which guarantees 25.5 Watts.

Function ANR

The image from the IP camera is sent to the NVR as a data stream. In the event of a computer network failure (reduction of its bandwidth), the information is irretrievably lost, as the network does not buffer it and the camera cannot resend it. With ANR (Automatic Network Replenishment) enabled, the camera can save recordings to a memory card in the event of connectivity problems with the NVR. When the failure ceases, the recordings are automatically transferred to the recorder. In the event of an interruption in transmission, the operator does not have to take any action in order to have a complete recording on the recorder. To use it, you must also have a Dahua IP camera equipped with a memory card slot and a microSD card.
H.265 compression (+)
A very important parameter indicating the sophistication of the device is the compression. The better the type of compression, the less bandwidth is required for the same subjective quality. H.265 (HEVC - High Efficiency Video Coding) is currently the most efficient compression method. Compared to its predecessor (H.264), it reduces the data stream and storage requirements by half on average. As a result, hard drives with half the capacity can be used or recordings can be stored for twice as long. Its enhanced version H.265+ has been optimised for use in CCTV surveillance systems. Its use further reduces the data stream.

SmartPSS PC client software
SmartPSS Lite (Smart Professional Surveillance System Lite) is an easy-to-use, free software for operating and managing Dahua products on a Windows and macOS computer. The software allows to conveniently carry out remote system configuration and then conduct live monitoring. Its intuitive and functional interface also allows you to view and download recordings, intelligently search, receive alarm events, two-way audio transmission, visualise the system on an e-map or record to your computer's hard drive.
