A solar-powered camera with active deterrence (TioC), designed for installation in locations without network infrastructure or power sources. The integrated design combines an IP camera, a 4G communication module, a solar panel for power generation and a backup battery. It is the ideal solution for monitoring locations where traditional cameras would be impractical or impossible to install.

Long battery life thanks to energy-saving modes
Ultra Power-Saving Mode The camera uses a PIR sensor as its sole trigger – the device remains in sleep mode, but when it detects movement, it immediately wakes up and records the event. The camera takes longer to activate.

Dahua AOV (Always-On Video) provides continuous monitoring with minimal power consumption. In standby mode, the camera records one frame per second, which significantly extends battery life. When it detects movement (e.g. a person or vehicle), it immediately switches to full video recording mode. This ensures continuous monitoring for the user, whilst the system remains energy-efficient. This solution is ideal for locations without a constant power supply, such as construction sites or remote premises.
Performance (Steady-On) The camera remains active at all times. This ensures an immediate response to any events, without the delays typical of power-saving modes. Power consumption in this mode is the highest, which significantly reduces battery life.

SMD+ Smart Motion Detection
The camera distinguishes between people and vehicles and the movement of other objects, such as animals or leaves blowing in the wind. This reduces the number of false alarms and sends notifications only in the event of genuine threats. The camera analyses the image in real time, allowing it to respond immediately to detected events. The SMD+ feature enhances monitoring efficiency, particularly in high-traffic areas or environments where interference is common. In practice, this means more precise and cost-effective monitoring.
In AOV mode, the camera wakes up 3 seconds after detection.
4G LTE connectivity
4G connectivity allows video and alerts to be transmitted from almost anywhere using the Dahua mobile app or cloud platform. The connection ensures stable real-time video transmission, which is essential for alarms or incidents requiring an immediate response. The camera supports standard SIM cards, which simplifies setup and reduces infrastructure costs.
The following 4G bands are supported:
- FDD-LTE: B1, B3, B5, B7, B8, B20, B28
- TDD-LTE: B38, B40, B41
Active deterrent with built-in speaker and microphone
The active deterrence feature triggers an audible alarm and a flashing light as soon as movement is detected by the PIR sensor or the SMD+ system. This ensures that any potential intruder is deterred immediately, before an incident occurs. The camera automatically responds to a detected threat, and the system can also be controlled remotely via a mobile app. This feature enhances the effectiveness of monitoring by combining video recording with an immediate preventive response. It is particularly useful in remote locations or areas without constant supervision.
Two-way audio function – the user can hear sounds from the camera’s surroundings in real time and speak into the camera, with their voice being played back through the built-in speaker. This feature allows for direct communication with people within the camera’s field of view, such as visitors or security staff. Two-way audio enhances control over the premises and enables rapid intervention without the need for physical presence. Supported by DMSS applications.
Detachable solar panel
The solar panel is connected via a USB-C port, which can be disconnected at any time and mounted elsewhere. This means you are not limited to the camera’s position – the panel can be placed where there is the best sunlight, e.g. higher up on the roof, a fence or a pole. This flexible placement allows for maximum battery charging efficiency and ensures continuous operation of the device. This solution is particularly effective in challenging locations where the camera must be mounted in the shade or in a place with limited access to sunlight.
