The DVR features video motion detection. The detection areas are defined on a rectangular grid. Using "External I/O" on the rear panel it is also possible to connect external alarm sensors.
Use of video motion detection allows to increase recording time considerably - there are recorded only alarm events. However, this mode is useful only for low-traffic areas (e.g. emergency exit, building interior at night etc.)
Picture parameters, i.e. brightness, contrast, and saturation, can be set for each channel independently.
The DVR can simultaneously provide live images, play archive files, stream video in the network, and backup data onto an external carrier.
The recorder can take on board 2 hard drives with a maximum capacity of 1TB each. There is no place for a DVD writer, however the writer can be connected instead of ne hard drive (it would require to adapt the housing).
The biggest advantage of the DVR is smooth operation in the network. MPEG4 video compression requires significantly less network bandwidth than older standards used by many other DVRs. Remote access to the DVR have up 5 users at the same time. Preview can be accessed by IE browser or client program. The manufacturer also provides free multiclient software capable of monitoring several such DVRs.
The recorder allows to control PTZ cameras through RS-485 interface.
The search of recorded data can be made, like with most of similar equipment, both in the order of time and alarm events. Searching can be done at various speeds, both forwards and backwards.
Review of archives can be exercised directly on the DVR, or on a PC with dedicated software. Transfer/backup of the data is carried out via USB port (possibility of connecting external flash memory or USB HDD).
Notice! Direct connection of the DVR to a PC is not allowed.
The device is equipped with remote control. The user can control the DVR with the front panel keys, remote IR controller, or - to some extent - via the network. To use the remote IR control, the user has to connect IR receiver to the IR socket on the back of the DVR, included in the kit.
The DVR has many functions that have become a standard:
- Recording mode
- manual / alarm /
- motion detection / schedule /,
- Quick search for archive materials
- last file
- full list
- triggered by motion detection
- time line
- Pre-alarm.
