TRX-360 R81709 modulator ("remultiplexer") can multiplex up to 6 transport streams (MPEG-2 TS) and convert them into COFDM modulated DVB-T RF channel (multiplex). This module has been designed for use in the MMH-3000 headend.
The modulator has 6 inputs for feeding MPEG-2 TS streams. The digital data streams are provided by RDC-313 R81710, DM-313 R81712, or MD-330 R81713 (encoder) modules. The RDC-313 and DM-313 modules provide whole satellite transponders received by the headend. The user can remultiplex the streams, i.e. select interesting channels and place them in the output multiplex in DVB-T standard.
The maximum bitrate at the output of the modulator is 31.66 Mb/s. In practice, it translates into 6-7 channels of standard definition (SD) or 2 channels in high definition (HD). Remultiplexing the streams, the user should include a 10% safety margin (by determining the maximum bit rate for the whole multiplex, which should not exceed 29 Mb/s).
If the user wants to put into the DVB-T multiplex some other signal (coming from media player, DVD player, analog camera etc. as baseband video), the indispensable component of the headend will be MD-330 R81713 encoder converting the analog signal into digital MPEG-2TS stream. The stream directly enters the TRX-360 modulator and then is distributed via DVB-T multiplex, with other programs.
The TRX-360 R81709 modulator, similarly to all components of TERRA headend, can be configured using free Terra Link or paid CMH Master R81706 software.

Electrostatic discharge caution
The module contains electrostatic sensitive components. To minimize electrostatic discharge, observe the following precautions:
- Do not remove module from its anti-static plastic bag until you are ready to install it into the base unit.
- Hold the module only by its front panel.
- Do not place the module on an unprotected surface. Immediately after you remove the module from the base unit, you must insert it into its anti-static plastic bag.
- When the module is not in use, keep it in its anti-static plastic bag.
- Do not ship or store the module or base unit in/near strong electrostatic, electromagnetic or radioactive fields.
