The Fibertechnic DAC 24J Z-XOTKtcdD cable with Corning SMF-28 Ultra fibers (L79224) is designed for installataion directly in the ground. It has a HDPE sheath with high crush resistance (4000 N), which also makes it resistant to low temperatures. It can be employed on the last mile of a FTTH system, as well as in any installation that requires terrestrial cables, where casing pipes cannot be used for additional protection.
The cable can also be installed in existing telecommunication ducts: the maximum pulling force during installation equals 1200 N.
The central tube contains 24 single-mode G.652D fibers.
The central tube is filled with gel to protect fibers against humidity and vibrationa, while the cable as such has a waterblock design. It is additionally reinforced with 2 FRP rods with a diameter of 0.9 mm.
Despite its high mechanical resistance, the cable is very easy to process. No dedicated tools are required to remove the outer sheath: a simple cleaver (to perform a cut of several centimeters along the central tube) and a pair of pliers (to tear up the outer sheath with FRP rods) are all you need. To cut the tube, use the Ideal L5922 stripper.
