Details
The Signal Fire MC-16 is a multifunctional tool designed for working with optical fibres. Among the tool's applications are:
- cutting and breaking of optical fibres before splicing
- stripping of optical fibres from 900 μm and 250 μm sheaths
- cleaning of fibres
- cutting 2-3 mm patchcord cables
- cutting of cables and their components with kevlar blades
The patented design of the tool allows to process all operations with one hand (one hand holds the cable/fibre), while the other performs all the necessary operations. This is particularly valuable when realising fibre optic connections in places that are difficult to access, without the possibility of setting up a comfortable workstation.
The blade makes approximately 48,000 cuts with an average cutting angle of 0.8°.
Note: the position of the fibre holding element in the cleaver can be changed to adapt the tool for both right- and left-handed users.
