The GRANDWAY FHO3100-D32 reflectometer is a device used to measure reflectance, estimate attenuation and analyse events in an optical transmission path. Its affordable price and good performance mean it can be successfully used across the entire spectrum of fibre-optic installations – from FTTH to simple, short point-to-point connections. One of the greatest advantages of this type of device, apart from providing detailed information about the installation, is the ability for the installer to carry out measurements without having to connect any equipment at the other end of the optical path.
The FHO3100 OTDR is a multifunctional fibre-optic tester that combines the following functions:
- automatic and expert OTDR modes,
- event map,
- optical power metre,
- visual fibre locator (VFL),
- a stable laser light source,
- attenuation measurement, length testing and pair detection for UTP cables,
- digital UTP cable locator and a torch.
The device is equipped with a 6.2-inch touchscreen. It provides excellent support for the construction, installation and maintenance of fibre-optic networks. Measurements can be carried out at wavelengths of 1310 nm and 1550 nm. The device’s dynamic range is 32 dB and 30 dB respectively, which allows for the measurement of long-haul networks.
The FHO3100 reflectometer provides information on the attenuation of splices, connectors and optical fibre, as well as the reflectance of all characteristic points along the optical path. Furthermore, it directly provides information on the distances between individual points, such as splices (so-called ‘events’), and the total length of the signal path. All the information listed above is presented on the touchscreen in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.
