DS-7604NXI-K1/VPro is an advanced 4-channel IP recorder from Hikvision’s K/VPro series, designed for demanding IP CCTV systems where the effectiveness of analysis and the speed of searching for objects meeting user-defined criteria are of paramount importance. The recorder supports IP cameras with a resolution of up to 12 Mpix, ensuring the level of detail required for identification. Independent HDMI (up to 4K) / VGA (up to 1080p) outputs allow two monitors to be connected, each with a separately configurable camera view. The available input bandwidth of 40 Mb/s and output bandwidth of 80 Mb/s allow for smooth recording and decoding of video, even under heavy system load. The recorder can be fitted with a single hard drive featuring a SATA interface with a capacity of up to 16 TB. When the storage is full, automatic overwrite is activated, protecting the most recent data from loss. The USB ports (2 x USB 2.0) enable fast export of recordings to external storage media. A Gigabit network port (1 × RJ‑45 10/100/1000 Mb/s) enables communication with IP cameras and integration with the local network and the internet.
The K/VPro series devices utilise Hikvision’s advanced image analysis algorithms, including AcuSense, AcuSeek, AcuSearch and Motion Detection 2.0. AcuSense filters out false alarms by classifying objects as either a person or a vehicle, significantly enhancing the effectiveness of perimeter security. The AcuSeek and AcuSearch functions allow for quick searching of recordings based on AI metadata generated by the cameras, such as clothing colour or object type, which significantly speeds up the process of finding events of interest. The recorder also supports facial recognition, enabling the capture, comparison and search of facial images within 16 libraries with a total capacity of up to 50,000 images. The system works with ANPR cameras for number plate recognition, as well as PTZ and VCA cameras, enabling advanced monitoring scenarios such as line crossing or intrusion. The AI metadata-based search available in the AcuSeek/AcuSearch functions supports only the English language.

AcuSeek is a groundbreaking feature available in the latest Hikvision IP recorders, which completely transforms the way video footage is searched. Using advanced next-generation artificial intelligence, the system can understand both what the camera sees and what the user types, combining image and language analysis into a single, cohesive environment. This solution is like a personal assistant who knows all the recordings by heart, understands the user’s intentions and instantly pinpoints exactly what they are looking for without the need to sift through hours of video footage. Whether you need to find a specific person, vehicle or incident, AcuSeek delivers precise results in just a few seconds. This technology is based on a large multimodal AI model called Guanlan, which analyses data in layers:
- Image recognition: identifies people, vehicles, objects, animals, as well as their behaviours and interactions
- Understands text: processes natural user queries, e.g. “a person with a rucksack entering a building”, without the need for technical language
- Connects context: intelligently matches the description to the relevant parts of the recording, taking into account time, place and situation

Thanks to this multi-layered analysis, AcuSeek not only ‘sees’ and ‘reads’, but above all understands, making it one of the most advanced video search tools available on the market. This feature significantly boosts the efficiency of surveillance operators, security services and private users alike, offering intuitive operation, instant results and unrivalled precision.
The AcuSearch feature, available on selected network recorders, is used to quickly search through recordings based on data generated by AcuSense cameras. It allows you to filter footage according to object characteristics, such as type (person, vehicle), clothing colour, vehicle type and colour, direction of movement or behaviour. The search takes place directly on the recorder, but it is the cameras that provide the metadata, which the recorder analyses to identify the relevant sections of the recording. The system filters out false alarms caused by environmental factors, allowing you to identify relevant events more quickly and streamlining the operator’s work.

Guanlan is an advanced artificial intelligence platform developed by Hikvision, based on so-called large-scale AI models. This term refers to machine learning algorithms that have been trained on vast datasets and contain billions of parameters – that is, variables that the model optimises to best capture the relationships within the input data. Thanks to this scale, these models are capable of performing complex tasks such as image recognition, natural language understanding and real-time behaviour analysis.

Guanlan’s technology utilises a three-layer model architecture: base multimodal models (combining images, text and other data), industry-specific models tailored to particular sectors (e.g. public safety, industry), and task-specific models optimised for specific functions, such as object detection or event classification. By utilising large-scale AI models, Guanlan achieves high analysis accuracy, is capable of recognising complex patterns, and significantly reduces the number of false alarms in surveillance systems. In practice, this means that Hikvision products equipped with Guanlan are capable not only of recording images, but also of interpreting them: for example, identifying a person wearing specific clothing, recognising unusual behaviour, or predicting a potential threat. All this happens in real time, without the need to manually search through recordings. Guanlan is therefore an example of the application of the latest advances in artificial intelligence within the AIoT environment, where smart devices not only collect data but also understand it and react to it autonomously.
The recorder features face capture and analysis across a specified number of channels. It is possible to create face libraries, which can later be used to search through recordings. You can also specify associated actions to be carried out in the event of a successful or unsuccessful comparison of a detected face with a face in the library, e.g. triggering an audible alarm on the recorder, triggering an alarm at the monitoring centre, sending an email, controlling an alarm output, etc. Faces already recorded on the recorder or from an external source can be added to the library. Recordings stored on the recorder can be searched quickly and easily by selecting a specific face on the channels where the face recording and comparison function was active.

Cameras equipped with the Motion Detection 2.0 algorithm can be connected to the recorder on all channels. This technology effectively reduces the number of false alarms by classifying objects such as people and vehicles. Recordings stored on the recorder can be quickly and easily searched to check whether they meet criteria such as ‘person’ or ‘vehicle’.

The recorder supports perimeter security in the form of VCA events (e.g. line crossing, intrusion detection, entry into and exit from an area) generated by Hikvision IP cameras, which are enhanced with AcuSense technology. Perimeter protection, also known as perimeter security, ensures the early detection of individuals attempting to breach the boundary of a protected area. An extremely important consideration when building a security system is its resistance to false alarms triggered, for example, by animals, the movement of trees, leaves, shadows, weather conditions, etc. Cameras and recorders featuring AcuSense technology are ideal for implementing such protection; they analyse objects using a deep learning algorithm and treat only those that meet specific criteria as a threat.

Compression is a very important parameter proving the device advancement. The better the compression, the lower the bandwidth requirement with the same subjective quality. H.265 (HEVC - High Efficiency Video Coding) is currently the most efficient compression method. Compared to its predecessor (H.264), it reduces the data stream and the demand for disk capacity by half. Therefore, hard drives with a halved capacity can be used, or recordings can be stored for twice as long. Its improved version H.265+ has been optimized for use in CCTV monitoring systems. They allow for further reduction of data streams.

To control Hikvision devices using mobile phones running the operating systemAndroid or iOS, the Hik-Connect mobile app is available. It can be used to remotely view live footage from DVRwww.dipolnet.com/6571.htm?showall=1, www.dipolnet.com/7043.htm?attr-4483%5B1%5D=11343&sort=def, www.dipolnet.com/7040.htm?attr-3488[1]=8252, www.dipolnet.com/6827.htm?showall=1*** using Wi-Fi, 2G or 3G networks, as well as for viewing recorded footage. Operating video door phones via the app also allows you to remotely open the electric strike, receive notifications and forward calls from the entry panel to your phone if the occupant is away. The app supports connectivity via IP addresses and via the P2P cloud. Hik-Connect is also the name of a cloud-based service that allows access to devices when there is no external IP address.

The image from the IP camera is sent to the recorder as a data stream. Thanks to the support of the ANR (Automatic Network Replenishment) function, the Hikvision IP camera equipped with a microSD card can save recordings on it in the event of network failure, i.e. problems with communication between the camera and the recorder. After the problem is solved, the recordings are automatically synchronized with the recorder and marked with a different color on the playback bar. Such a solution guarantees the continuity of recordings and boosts the entire system performance.
