IP camera Pixord P500PoE is a fixed, indoor device with audio path and PoE option. It is used for real-time transmission of video and audio via computer network. The camera supports M-JPEG / MPEG-4 compression and dual stream mode. The main applications include professional monitoring systems based on IP technology - in businesses, offices, stores, shopping molls, factories, banks, government buildings, developments, houses etc.
Capabilities of PiXORD P500PoE camera:
  • integration with any IP monitoring system,
  • remote viewing of images via Internet Explorer from any place in the world,
  • remote management of cameras via Internet Explorer from any place in the world,
  • possibility of using https protocol (encryption),
  • analog video signal on BNC output, parallel to IP interface,
  • remote recording of images/sound on the computer (via Internet Explorer),
  • Power over Ethernet (PoE)
  • remote viewing of images via VLC or Quick Time Player,
  • capturing viewed images (as JPEG or BMP) and saving them on computer any moment (via Internet Explorer),
  • Dual Streaming,
  • automatic adaptation (kind of stream - VBR/CBR, quality/bandwidth, frame rate) to the schedule (day, night, weekend),
  • possibility of using external Pan-Tilt device (control via RS485 or RS 232 port - protocols: Lilin, PELCO-D, PELCO-P, DynaColor),
  • performing programmed actions after motion detection. loss of video and/or activation of alarm input:
    • sending short AVI files to an ftp server,
    • sending short AVI files as e-mail attachment,
    • activation of alarm output,
  • local recording on USB drive connected directly to the camera,
  • remote playback of recordings from USB drive connected directly to the camera,
  • after placing the camera in outdoor housing Marathon MH-816/12 M5407 - outdoor applications.
P500PoE has been equipped with 1/3'' SuperHAD CCD (540TVL) from Sony (sensitivity - 0.1 lx with F2.0 lens). The included fixed lens (only focus adjustment) has 6mm focal length (F1.6). It can be replaced with other lens (CS mount), e.g. with adjustable focal length and automatic iris (the camera has a suitable interface for DC lens). The camera has internal microphone. Both the image and sound have DVD-like quality. The two LEDs on the rear panel inform the user about power and network status. The reset button restores default settings. The camera is also equipped with:
  • 12VDC input - power
  • RJ45 connector - network interface, PoE
  • 2.5mm female jack - audio out
  • 2 x USB 2.0 - for external storage devices
  • mini DIN - for connecting special cable extension with additional connectors:
    • BNC - analog video output (for monitor, DVR etc.)
    • RS485 (terminal strip) - for PT device
    • alarm input (terminal strip)
    • alarm output (terminal strip)
P500PoE can generate two video streams (Dual Stream) in MPEG-4 format (the second one can also be in the MJPEG form), with D1 (720x576) resolution at 25 fps (PAL). Its resolution can be reduced to Half D1 or CIF.
In each video format the user can set compression level which influences image quality and bandwidth requirements. Additionally, in MPEG-4 format it is possible to choose CBR or VBR option and change advanced Group of Picture (GOP) settings. The MPEG-4 streaming uses RTSP protocol.
Configuration options of the embedded firmware:
  • advanced compression and image parameters settings associated with operating schedule (daytime, nighttime, weekend):
    • resolution (independent for each stream),
    • frame rate ( interchangeably between streams, max. 25 fps for both streams),
    • MPEG-4:
      • bitrate options:
        • Constant Bitrate (CBR) - from 64kbps to 4Mbps (influences quality of image),
        • Variable Bitrate (VBR) - choice among 27 quality levels (actual bitrate depends on variability of the scene and the chosen quality level),
      • GOP size,
      • MPEG-4 version (ASP, SP),
      • MPEG-4 settings associated with operating schedule,
    • MJPEG (only second stream):
      • choice among 90 quality levels,
  • video settings:
    • brightness, contrast, saturation, backlight compensation, automatic electronic shutter, OSD settings (date, time, camera name),
  • PTZ settings:
    • ON/OFF
    • protocol (Lilin, PELCO-D, PELCO-P, DynaColor),
    • ID,
    • speed,
  • insertion of OSD information,
  • reaction to events (motion detection, external alarm, video loss),
  • defining motion detection area and parameters,
  • alarm output settings,
  • remote information on camera (firmware version, MAC address),
  • synchronization of date and time with NTP server or manual settings,
  • defining access rights (administrator, operator, or user),
  • advanced settings of COM port,
  • remote restart and restoration of default settings,
  • information on camera status,
  • audio settings,
  • assignment of IP address from DHCP server or insertion of static parameters (IP address, subnetwork mask, default gateway, DNS server), reading of MAC address, choice of communication protocol (HTTP, HTTPS), change of standard ports (camera management, MJPEG, sound: port 80 - http) and MPEG-4 (port 554 - RTSP),
  • DynDNS settings,
  • assigning email addresses of the source and destination user (for sending short AVI files or information on the event)
  • assigning FTP server for sending short AVI files,
