Channel numbers. The frequency ranges used in community antenna installations and cable networks in Poland sometimes cause a bit of trouble for installers. In Poland there is used the numbering of channels given in D/K column. In Poland the numbering is continuous, i.e. special channels are numbered S8 and then we have S9. In some countries, with the same channel plan, there is a break in numbering between channel S8 and the next special channel and the next channel is numbered S11.
This is particularly important with modulators and satellite receivers. Often installers are surprised when, after programming, they have a channel two channels lower when measured on the meter. Instead of looking at the output channels, it is better to pay attention to the frequency range. As a reminder, here is a table of channels with their numbering used in Poland and the West.

The grey colour indicates the frequency bands in the BV range vacated by TV-related broadcasting services in favour of mobile services under the so-called digital dividend. The first dividend covered the range of channels 61 - 69, while the second dividend covered channels 49 - 60. In these frequency ranges, TV is not broadcast via broadcasting. However, it is possible to use these frequencies in cable networks and installations with TV modulators.
