Support
Details
Since July 2018, TP-Link has set the default SFP operation mode as full duplex. To ensure cooperation of TP-Link switches with other devices, e.g. ULTIMODE media converters, the Duplex parameter of the SFP ports should be set to AUTO.
TP-LINK TL-SG3210 JetStream gigabit L2 managed switch has 8 Ethernet 10/100/1000 Mbps ports and two 1000 Mbps SFP slots. It supports enterprise-level Quality of Service (L2 to L4) and rich layer 2 management features.
Distinguishing features:
- 8 RJ45 10/100/1000 Mbps ports,
- 2 SFP 1000 Mbps ports,
- Advanced layer 2 management features,
- Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP),
- 4k VLAN,
- GVRP (GARP VLAN Registration Protocol),
- Port Isolation,
- STP/RSTP/MSTP,
- IGMP snooping,
- Quality of Service (L2 to L4),
- Support for IEEE 802.1p,
- DSCP QoS,
- 802.3x Flow Control function,
- Access Control Lists (ACL, L2 to L4),
- 802.1X and RADIUS server authentication,
- Protection against ARP and Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks,
- Port Security,
- Protection of administrator's traffic through SSL or SSH encryption,
- Web-based Graphical User Interface (GUI),
- Command Line Interface (CLI),
- SNMP v1/v2c/v3,
- RMON (1,2,3,9 groups).
Network protection
IP-MAC-Port-VID Binding, Port Security, Storm Control, DHCP Snooping and IP Source Guard functions protect against network attacks. The administrator can define some typical DoS attacks that will be easily detected, improving security levels. Access Control Lists (ACL, L2 to L4) feature restricts access to sensitive network resources by denying some packets, based on source and destination MAC address, IP address, TCP/UDP ports or even VLAN ID. Additionally, the switch supports 802.1X authentication, which is used in conjunction with a RADIUS server to get some authentication information before allowing access to the network. Guest VLAN function can provide access for non-802.1X clients to some specific network resources.
Advanced QoS functions
For better integration of voice, data and video services in the network, the switch applies rich QoS policies. Administrators can determine the priority of the traffic based on a variety of means including IP or MAC address, TCP or UDP port number, etc., to ensure that voice and video are always clear, smooth and jitter free.
Layer 2 features
The device supports advanced functions of layer 2 switches, including 802.1Q tag VLAN, Port Mirroring, STP/RSTP/MSTP protocols, Link Aggregation Control Protocol. The switch also offers features for network maintenance, such as Loop Back Detection and Cable Diagnostics. Another feature, IGMP snooping, provides the ability to switch multicast frames only to selected users, while the IGMP throttling & filtering restricts access to resources for individual users at the port level.
Management features
The switch is easy to use and manage. It supports both user-friendly, intuitive web-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) and Command Line Interface (CLI). The administration traffic can be protected through SSL or SSH encryption. The support for SNMP (v1/2/3) and RMON enables the switch to provide valuable status information and send traps on abnormal events.
