Terra DM-316 R817121 is a "slave" module for decoding MPEG2 TS (Transport Stream) and converting one of the channels to analog form (PAL) that is distributed as an RF TV channel (DSB modulator). It is mounted in base units (UC-380 R81700) of MMH-3000 headends. The module directly cooperates with a "master" module, e.g. RT-316 R81707 (DVB-T receiver) that provides the transport stream (TS), so the channel is the part of the DVB-T multiplex received by the receiver.
Notice: MPEG2 TS means the signal transport stream used in MMH-3000 headend between signal processing modules - it is not the DVB-T signal that comes from an terrestrial antenna to the RT-315C receiver. The RT-315C receiver and DM-315C decoder are compliant with DVB-T MPEG-2 and DVB-T MPEG-4/H.264 broadcasts.
The master/slave sets consisting of appropriate numbers of RT-316 R81707 and DM-316 R817121 modules can receive and convert to analog form any or all channels included in a digital DVB-T multiplex.
The sets of the modules are especially demanded by hotels, hospitals, sanatoriums etc. with multiple analog televisions in use. In such cases it is uneconomical to replace all the receivers with DVB-T ones, or even install individual digital tuners. The MMH-3000 headend is a good alternative to the high costs of replacing all the TV sets or buying many set-top boxes.

The module, similarly to all modules used in MMH-3000 headends, is configured with free Terra Link utility or commercial CMH-Master application software R81706.
Notice: in the case of using the module together with Terra RT-316 R81707, the teletext feeds from DVB-T channels are not supported.

  • Do not remove module from its anti-static plastic bag until you are ready to install it into the base unit.
  • Hold the module only by its front panel.
  • Do not place the module on an unprotected surface. Immediately after you remove the module from the base unit, you must insert it into its anti-static plastic bag.
  • When the module is not in use, keep it in its anti-static plastic bag.
  • Do not ship or store the module or base unit in/near strong electrostatic, electromagnetic or radioactive fields.
