This flexible NVR platform allows multi-server multi-client operation. The client application can manage 100 Titan NVRs, monitor 400 cameras, playback recordings from 100 NVRs. A single NVR can serve 128 cameras (e.g. each of 4 clients can simultaneously monitor 32 different cameras) and play back 64 channels (e.g. each of 8 clients simultaneously plays back 8 recordings).
NUUO NT-4040(R) K4204 can record video streams from megapixel cameras up to 10 MP and from standard-resolution cameras, with frame rates up to 25 fps. Due to Linux OS, it ensures stable operation and resistance to computer viruses that attack Windows applications.
During regular operation, NUUO NT-4040(R) K4204 does not need any computer or computer resources. Computers are only used as clients for online access to the live and recorded video and for configuration of the IP CCTV system.
Titan NVR can be connected to any node of IP network and provide service for a number of customers (clients) with hierarchical access rights. Such systems are suitable for video surveillance of offices, factories, warehouses, stores, airports, roads, public spaces etc.
The access to the NVR is available through a free client application (NuClient) and IE, FF, Safari browsers.

A basic architecture of a system based on the NVR
Main features of NT-4040(R)
- Linux OS. Due to the system architecture, it guarantees stable, reliable and virus-free operation of NVR without the risk of losing data.
- The NVR supports cameras from 40 manufacturers, over 1100 models. Aside from the supported IP cameras, the NVR can cooperate with analog cameras connected via video servers. The IP cameras can have resolution up to 10 MP! Among the supported cameras there are models from ACTi, Hikvision, Pixord, and Sunell. The full list of compatible cameras is available here.
- Compliance with ONVIF. ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) is an open industry forum aimed at coordinating efforts to set common, global standard for recording and transmitting video in IP CCTV systems. ONVIF-compliant devices ensure flexibility in building video surveillance systems due to interoperability of equipment from various manufacturers. By standardizing the digital interfaces of the IP CCTV equipment and unifying compression and transmission of video streams, device configuration and control procedures, event handling etc., the user is given an easy to manage and uniform platform.
- Recording video data from up to 64 5-megapixel H.264 cameras. As a standard, the K4204 NVR supports four IP cameras. The user can increase the number of cameras in the system by buying the appropriate license ( K4265 ), logging to the NVR and entering the serial number of the license into the license manager. There is no need to modify the hardware.

- Two GbE ports. NVR Titan has been equipped with two Gigabit Ethernet ports. The user can separate the recording stream from viewing stream to ensure higher reliability of the system and lower the risk of overloading the network. Additionally, if one of the network cards broke down, the second could temporarily handle the whole network traffic.
- Scheduled backup. Automatic backup of recordings to an FTP server. It protects against any failures and loss of data stored on hard drives.
- Event response procedures. Titan NVR continuously monitors the operating status of the system. Events or exceptions such as:
- disk error (overflow, failure),
- system report (daily report on system events and disk storage use),
- FTP server access denied,
- backup failure,
- notification of power up,
- notification of the automatic power off (if the inside temperature of the device exceeds a critical value),
- Centralized recording system. It supports continuous, time-scheduled, and alarm-triggered (motion detection, alarm input activation, loss of connection) recording. The users can be immediately notified of these events in the form of onscreen messages on client workstations, via emails, and through actions of devices (e.g. sirens, lamps) connected to the alarm outputs.
- Audio recording. If a camera has a built-in or plugged in microphone, the NVR can record the sound. The audio and video recording are synchronized.
- NUUO Command Chain Technology. In the case of large systems with multiple Titan NVRs, the configuration of user accounts on each of them would take a lot of time. NUUO Command Chain Technology synchronizes user accounts even at 100 servers.
Main features of NuClient application
- Windows or Mac OS. Access to the NVR(s) is possible by using the NuClient client software or the following web browsers installed on 32/64-bit Windows 7 or Mac OS X 10.7 systems: Internet Exporer 8 or later, Firefox 7.0.1 or later, Safari 5.1 or later.
- Capacity of managing up to 100 servers, live viewing up to 400 channels and playback of up to 100 channels - simultaneously. With the NuClient application, the user can remotely manage the NVRs, watch live video streams, view archival materials (depending on the authorization level).
- Possibility of using up to 4 monitors. The NuClient application allows for connecting to the computer up to four monitors, thus enabling the operator to view images from multiple cameras.
- Menu layout adjustment. The layout of the NVR menu can be adapted to the needs of the operator. The location of function modules such as PTZ control, list of cameras, etc. may be modified for easier navigation. The rearrangement of menu is possible both in the NuClient application and the browser used.
- Screen division change. Thanks to this option, the user can display images from primary cameras in larger windows, and from secondary cameras - in smaller ones. This feature greatly facilitates observation of the monitored area and increases its effectiveness.
- NUUO Image Fusion Technology - possibility of combining images from up to 10 fixed cameras. This technology allows for adjusting the views from individual cameras (by changing their size and angle of view) in order to combine them into one coherent picture without "blind spots". With this functionality, it is possible to monitor a stadium, parking lot, street, store, or a long corridor without having to switch between different cameras e.g. when tracking a moving person.
NUUO Image Fusion Technology - stitching together images into a panoramic view
- Region of Interest - an interesting fragment of the image from a selected camera is displayed in additional window. This feature is used when some part of the scene requires special attention. The image in the window simulates a physical camera.
For example, when the camera monitors a stadium grandstand, the operator can extract the section showing fans behaving aggressively and show it zoomed in a separate window. So, the operator can both view the entire area monitored by the camera, and additionally the most important (at the moment) part of the image (its size and location can be changed at any time) displayed in the window. This solution greatly facilitates the work of the operator, who is able to respond to any incidents much faster.
This technology eliminates the need for PTZ cameras, which cannot control the whole area when zoomed in on specific targets. The NUUO Titan solution monitors a large area as a whole (by stitching together images from adjacent cameras), as well as allows for closer view of a selected fragment.
NUUO Image Fusion stitches images from cameras no. 1,2,3,4,
and the Region of Interest from the camera no.2 is displayed as camera no.5
and the Region of Interest from the camera no.2 is displayed as camera no.5
- Streaming Profile. In the case of remote viewing of video over the Internet, the image quality is limited by the upload speed of the link that is used by the Titan NVR. The user can freely choose the desired streaming profile based on the bandwidth available.
- Support for optical and digital PTZ functions. The NVR firmware and client application allow for control of PTZ cameras from the OSD menu or via a system control unit (a physical console). The software can also digitally simulate pan, tilt and zoom for non-PTZ cameras.
- Remote server configuration. Using NuClient or web browser, the administrator can remotely setup cameras, add users, change profiles, handle disk space management.
- E-map. E-map illustrates the layout of the cameras deployed in the system. In the event of an alarm at any spot, the fact is automatically visualized on the map and the video from the camera appears on the screen.
- Setting up user profiles. Using the NuClient application or a web browser, the administrator can create user accounts and give them rights such as:
- access to selected cameras,
- PTZ control permission,
- control of alarm inputs/outputs,
- backup procedures,
- modification of e-maps,
- screen layout setup,
- Image Fusion configuration.
- Saving clips in AVI or ASF format. The software allows for selecting parts of recordings and export them as AVI or ASF files that can be handed over to the police or security services. The files can be played back using any video player or NuClient program that comes with the NVR.
- Searching archive recordings. The application allows simultaneous viewing of archival images from any selected cameras, and after selecting a specific area in an image - searching for motion detection. This way, it is possible e.g. to get back to the moment a theft occurred.

- Motion detection in recordings. This tool automatically searches for the scene in which something suspicious happened. With this feature, the operator does not need to search for it manually, minute by minute reviewing the recorded material.
- Remote monitoring via mobile phones / PDAs. The NUUO NVR enables remote access to IP CCTV systems from mobile phones / PDAs with 3G function. The user can at any moment from anywhere in the world (within 3G range) monitor what is happening in a protected area e.g. monitor an extinguishing action, identify people etc.
