Signal NVR 3216 is a modern IP CCTV recorder used to monitor, record and play back video streams from up to sixteen megapixel cameras. The NVR/DVR is very versatile - the user can choose the number of IP cameras/channels (4...16), resolution (D1...full HD), and frame rate (6...25 fps). Thanks to VGA and HDMI outputs, the recorder can be directly connected to a computer monitor or flat-screen television, operating as a standalone device (no need for a computer). It is running Linux OS, ensuring stable operation and resistance to computer viruses that attack Windows applications.

Signal NVR3216 K4416 can record video streams from cameras with resolution up to 2 MP (1920 x 1080). The processing capacity (total bitrate of 32 Mbps) can be used in CBR or VBR modes, with different combinations of frame rate/resolution/number of channels - appropriately to the needs, e.g.:
16 channels with resolution/frame rate:
  • D1/25fps
  • or 720p/12fps
  • or 1080p/6fps
or at the highest frame rate (25fps):
  • 16x D1 channels,
  • or 8x 720p channels,
  • or 4x 1080p channels.
Two SATA ports allow connection of hard drives with a total capacity of 6 TB. In the case of memory overflow, they automatically work in overwrite mode for recent data loss prevention. Two built-in USB ports can be used for plugging in USB flash drives or external HDDs to copy selected files.
To extend the data retention time and additionally protect the surveillance data against disk failure, the user can create an automatic backup schedule, saving the data on a remote or local computer running Schedule Backup software. The configuration of the backup function includes selection of specific time periods for each camera. Thanks to conversion of video files to AVI format, they can played back on any computer or handheld, such as tablet, mobile phone or PDA.
Free NVR software (PSS) allows for configuration of IP CCTV system consisting of Signal NVR3216 HD and 16 IP cameras.

Some functions of the software:
  • setting parameters of the images,
  • network configuration of IP cameras,
  • network configuration of NVR,
  • searching and playing back recorded video files,
  • registration of new users with assignment of access privileges.
Appropriate version of DMSS software (the last table) will enable users of smartphones powered by Android, Blacberry, iPhone, Symbian, or Windows Mobile to monitor the images from the cameras on their phones.
