Details
SIGNAL PRO optical transmitter TR-501 R69951 is designed for distribution of TV signals in community and building installations, enabling conversion of DVB-S/S2 satellite signals from QUAD or QUATRO converters and terrestrial digital TV DVB-T2 and FM/DAB+ radio signals to single-mode fibre optic transmission. The TR-501 R69951 SIGNAL PRO transmitter supports a single satellite position, providing simultaneous optical distribution of full SAT IF band (VL, VH, HL, HH) and terrestrial DVB-T2/radio signals in a single optical path. The high-performance lasers with stabilised output power (4 x 5 dBm) used guarantee low distortion, minimal noise and high resistance of the transmission path to external interference.
Key features:
- conversion of signals DVB-S/S2 (1 satellite position) and radio/DVB-T2
- WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technology - all signals in 1 fibre
- 1xQUATRO + radio/DVB-T2 input
- classic QUAD or QUATRO satellite converter (traditional approach to dish positioning)
- optical output (output power 4 x +5 dBm) terminated with type SC/APC connector
- AGC - automatic gain control to stabilise the signal level
- LEDs on the casing facilitating proper configuration of the whole system
- transmitter uses single-mode optical fibre for transmission
- maximum signal distribution up to 16 QUATRO REC-105 R69953 receivers
The TR-501 SIGNAL PRO transmitter is equipped with a precise AGC circuit to ensure a constant optical level regardless of changes in input levels. Its robust construction, effective cooling and the possibility of continuous operation within a wide temperature range allow reliable operation in professional SMATV systems. The device cooperates with SIGNAL PRO brand optical receivers, enabling the construction of extensive, multi-point distribution networks with a long range with minimal attenuation and full compatibility with modern digital television systems.
The transmitter uses the Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technique, allowing signals to be transmitted based on four independent wavelengths (1510 nm, 1530 nm, 1550 nm, 1570 nm), with adequate separation.
The transmitter has an optical output (output power 4x +5 dBm) terminated with connector of SC/APC type, enabling distribution of the signal to 16 receiving points (optical receivers of QUATRO REC-105 R69953 type). The exact number of receiving points and their maximum distance from the signal source can be determined by balancing the attenuation of the optical path with the optical power budget.

| LEDS INFORMING ABOUT OUTPUT SIGNAL LEVEL The optical transmitter is equipped with LEDs that clearly and intuitively inform the user of the current output signal level. This enables the user to react efficiently to any irregularities, minimising the risk of interference, overdrive or loss of transmission quality. | |
| SC/APC OPTICAL CONNECTOR The SC/APC optical connector is a standard interface used in fibre optic transmission systems, providing a high quality and reliable connection. The use of APC (Angled Physical Contact) polishing at an angle of 8° significantly reduces the back reflection of the optical signal, resulting in lower losses and better transmission quality. In contrast to the FC/UPC connectors commonly used in this type of system, SC/APC connectors do not pose any problems when connecting and operating equipment. | |
| WDM TECHNOLOGY Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) techniques are methods of multiplying signals in an optical fibre by using different wavelengths of light. Each wavelength carries an independent data stream. Efficient use of infrastructure - one fibre instead of multiple cables, reduces network construction and maintenance costs. | |
Signal PRO installation example
Optical-copper RTV/SAT installation using the professional line of SIGNAL PRO brand equipment:
- satellite TV (1 satellite position)
- terrestrial TV, radio
- distribution in 1 optic fibre
- division of signal into 4 optical paths
This solution can be used in large facilities where the distance between staircases is more than a few tens of metres and you want to transmit the RTV/SAT signal in a single optical fibre. Fibre optic cable provides excellent insulation against surges. This means that any surges induced in the vicinity of the antennas will stop at the optical transmitter installed immediately behind them - all other elements of the installation are 100% protected.
The TR-501 R69951 SIGNAL PRO optical transmitter enables the distribution of radio/DVB-T2 and SAT signals from a single satellite position via a single optical fibre. The built-in LEDs on the housing of the transmitter allow quick verification of the correctness of the connections and ongoing diagnostics of the network. Signal transmission from a single satellite position is realised using WDM technology. The 1x4 SC/APC optical splitter SIGNAL PRO A98864 is used to split the optical signal into four independent paths. The signal is then sent to the REC-105 R69953 optical receiver, which converts the signal from fibre to the copper medium. The receiver splits the full band into four polarisation/band pairs (VL, HL, VH, HH) - analogous to the operation of classical QUATRO-type converters - and into a radio/DVB-T2 signal. The optical receivers are followed by standard multiswitch installation based on Signal PRO multiswitches.
