DRAKA A-DQ(ZN)B2Y 24MM is a fiber optic cable for outdoor applications. Multimode 250 μm fibers are contained in central gel-filled tube. The gel in the tube is a kind of protective coating for optical fibers, which absorbs mechanical stresses and protects against environmental factors. The aramid yarn is designed to protect the central tube and fibers from mechanical damage, including risks posed by rodents.

This outdoor cable can be:

• buried directly in the ground (resistance to moisture and rodents)
• placed on the roof of a building (UV-resistant coating)
• used for overhead links (for sections longer than 10 meters it is recommended to use a suspension wire)

The outdoor cable can be inserted into a building over a distance not longer than 15 m from the inlet. The distribution system in the building has to be based on cables with LSZH sheath - in accordance with the requirements for installations inside buildings.

DRAKA A-DQ(ZN)B2Y 24MM cable contains 24 multimode fibers. The color identification of the buffer layers complies with the table below. The 1.2 mm thick sheath is made of black LLDPE (IEC 60811, IEC 60708).

The multimode fibers used in the cable are OM2 50/125, in 900 μm tight buffer. The multimode fibers meet the international standard IEC 60793-2-10 type A1a. OM2 multimode fibers are currently the most popular multimode fibers operating in the first and second transmission windows (850 and 1310 nm). The attenuation (IL) does not exceed 3.5 dB/km in the first transmission window, and 1.5 dB/km in the second transmission window.
