The LZ-8/POL is a simple splitter allowing several devices to be powered from a single higher power supply. The connector splits the power supply into 8 outputs.

LZ-8/POL is a simple DC power supply distributor that provides power from one higher power unit to a number of devices. The distributor splits the input into 8 outputs; each of them is protected by polymer fuse and has indication of output voltage (the corresponding output LED glows when the voltage is present at the output).
At the time of overloading one of the outputs, the resistance and temperature of the corresponding polymer fuse rises (temperature even over 100 deg C). The output voltage falls and the LED turns off - the fuse limits the current to a small value. After elimination of overloading the fuse returns to its original state and the LED is glowing again.
The LZ-8/POL has two power input sockets that are interconnected. This allows the power supply to be connected either via a DC 2.1/5.5 plug or via isolated wires. This also allows the connectors to be connected in series with each other, e.g. the power supply to the DC IN socket, from the cable terminals (DC IN), using the WT-2.1 cable to the second LZ-8/POL connector.
The device has a voltage drop across the polymer fuses, which depends on the current consumption: 160 mV for I=0.5 A; 300 mV for I=0.7 A. In the event of an overload, the polymer fuse heats up to >100°C, so the device should not be used at temperatures higher than 40°C.

The housing of the distributor has been prepared for mounting (with screws or strap fastening - not included) to a wall or mast. An unquestionable advantage of employing the LZ-8/POL in monitoring systems powered from a central point is additional protection against intentional attempts to break down the system. Without such individual protection of every power line, the intruder could stop powering of the whole system just by short circuiting the supplying of a single camera.
The device has jumpers with which each output can be easily disconnected.
