ACAR P7 NET is an extended version of P7 device family, designed for demanding users of computer equipment. It has 7 protected surge-protected AC power outlets (5 of them with ground contacts) and 2 protected RJ45 sockets for connecting network devices using LAN or Internet (router, computer, notebook, game console, LCD TV etc). The device specially recommended for configurations with Ethernet connection coming from outside (from WiFi antenna, another building, etc.), and with long distances to the router. It protects against surges all pairs of a four pair cable, as well as offers standard protection against surges occurring in 230 VAC power line.
Details
Power and telephone lines form huge networks that spread over the whole globe. The devices connected to the lines are exposed to various disturbances including switching and lightning overvoltages. The most dangerous surges are caused by lightning discharges (on average, there are 20 stormy days in the year) and those being the result of switching-over segments of network, switching on and off heavy loads, especially having reactive (usually inductive) character, e.g. motors, elevators, welders etc.
In order to protect computers, audio/video equipment, faxes, modems, telephone-exchanges, measuring devices, and other equipment against those disturbances it is necessary to use a protective device that would minimize the risk of damage to this expensive equipment.
