SFP/SFP+ modules (Small Form-factor Pluggable) convert electrical signals to optical transmission standards and vice versa. The module supports data rates up to 10 Gbit/s via one single-mode fiber (BiDi / WDM transmission). The maximum transmission distance is 20 km.
The module cooperates with L1430 module that has interchanged Tx and Rx wavelengths. It means that an optical link has to be equipped with the L1430 module at one end and the L1432 module at the other.
The module supports the DDM function, which allows to view its operating parameters on the switch in which it was installed.
