Optical modules compliant with SFP standard (Small Form-factor Pluggable) are transceivers converting electrical signals into optical signals transmitted over optical fibers and vice versa. This module is dedicated for the use of one single-mode fiber (duplex transmission). The complementary device is TP-LINK TL-SM321A L1420. The maximum transmission distance is determined by the type of the fiber used (up to 10 km).
The SFP transceiver has LC connector. LC connectors are currently the most popular optical coupling elements due to simple matching (push-pull coupling with a snap) and rectangular cross-section allowing dense packing of the connectors on the panel. The snap reduces the risk of accidental disconnection while in operation.
The module is intended for TP-LINK switches equipped with SFP slots.
