Since July 2018, TP-Link has set the default SFP operation mode as full duplex. To ensure cooperation of TP-Link switches with other devices, e.g. ULTIMODE media converters, the Duplex parameter of the SFP ports should be set to AUTO.
The TP-LINK T1500-28PCT smart switch has 24 10/100 Mbps ports supporting 802.3at/af compliant PoE devices and can supply them with a total power of up to 180 W. Such power is sufficient for a number of wireless access points or IP-based network surveillance cameras. The switch is also equipped with 4 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports and 2 gigabit combo SFP slots. The hardware ensures high performance of the network, the firmware adds enterprise-level QoS, useful security strategies and rich layer 2 management features.

The T1500-28PCT smart switch is a cost-effective device intended for small- and medium-size businesses. The device has useful security features. Storm Control function protects the network against Broadcast, Multicast and Unicast storm. Quality of Service (QoS, L2 to L4) provides enhanced traffic management capabilities to optimize networking. Easy to use web management interface along with SNMP and RMON protocols mean faster configuration and easier maintenance. To integrate voice, data and video services in one network, the switch implements advanced QoS policies. The administrator can define the priority of the traffic based on a variety of means including port priority (TCP/UDP), IP/MAC addresses, 802.1P and DSCP protocols. This way, voice and video are always clear, smooth and jitter free. In conjunction with the Voice VLAN function, the voice applications can always deliver excellent performance.
In order to increase the number of possible applications of T1500-28PCT switches, the traffic management functions in the second layer include: support for VLAN 802.1Q, port isolation, port mirroring, STP/RSTP/MSTP, port aggregation, 802.3x Flow Control. Additionally, the switch is equipped with a number of maintenance functions, such as detection of loop back connections, cable diagnostics, and IGMP snooping. The IGMP snooping function allows intelligent management of multicast traffic by making it available only for some subscribers, together with IGMP throttling and IGMP filtering features that effectively block access to the multicast traffic for unauthorized users.
The T1500-28PCT switch is easy to use and manage. It supports both user-friendly, intuitive web-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) and Command Line Interface (CLI). The support for SNMP (v1/2/3) and RMON enables the switch to provide valuable status information and send traps on abnormal events.
