ULTIAIR is a family of professional Access Points, designed for efficient long-term outdoor operation. Integration of the transceiver and antenna into one weather-resistant housing enables the installer to perform the job quickly, without additional operations.
ULTIAIR devices are characterized by short delays and high throughput. They can be managed via WinBox utility or telnet. They operate in unlicensed 5GHz band - no special permissions are needed. The devices can operate as client or base stations.
The RouterBoard with Mikrotik system has been put in outdoor housing of IP 66 class, which guarantees full protection against adverse weather conditions and corrosive environments (industry).

ULTIAIR series has been designed for creating efficient wireless IP CCTV and ISP networks.
ULTIAIR devices for wireless transmission have been dedicated for cooperation with professional CCTV systems managed by ULTISYSTEM software
ULTIAIR - example applications
Example 1. Recording of road traffic with the use of ULTIAIR devices and IP CCTV cameras from ACTi.
Failing to yield right of way and going over a red light at the crossroads are important reasons of collisions and accidents in large cities. It is often difficult to establish the fault of the driver who caused the collision, especially when there are no witnesses available. These problems can be solved with IP video surveillance systems using wireless transmission technology that allows to deploy camera points anywhere in the city.
Video transmission system based on professional ULTIAIR devices allows quick and easy creation of wireless network backbone.
ULTIAIR is a family of professional Access Points, designed for creating efficient wireless IP CCTV and ISP networks. The electronics and antenna have been put in outdoor housing of IP 66 class, which guarantees full protection against adverse weather conditions and corrosive environments. This compact construction is also easy to install. ULTIAIR devices operate in unlicensed 5GHz band - no special permissions are required.
IP CCTV cameras from ACTi belong to the leading products in the market. The offer of this corporation includes fixed and high-speed PTZ cameras, megapixel cameras, video servers and transcoders.
IP cameras compress the video signals to MJPEG/MPEG-4 streams that can be transmitted within the whole IP network. The images are available in any place, with the use of typical PC with appropriate software, e.g. ULTISYSTEM. It is not important whether the user is connected to the LAN or WAN (Internet) - the only condition is adequate bandwidth. ACTi cameras enable the designer to create optimum solution regardless of the size of the system.
Monitoring system based on professional ULTIAIR access points and ACTi or ULTICAM cameras allows any modification and extension in the future.

Example 2. HotSpot based on ULTIAIR devices - access to the Internet in public space.
HotSpots enable the users of handhelds with 802.11 wireless connectivity to get access to the Internet in public space. Such solutions are very popular in city centers, train and bus stations, shopping molls etc.
The basic component of any HotSpot is Access Point - the device that bridges the wireless and wired network. Perfect devices for this purpose are some ULTIAIR types - 417SB N2330 or 415SGB N2335. These professional, outdoor Access Points have been designed for creating efficient wireless IP CCTV and ISP networks. The device operates in unlicensed 5 GHz band, whereas 415SGB N2335 is designed for the most popular 2.4 GHz band. The RouterBoard with Mikrotik level 4 system has been put in outdoor housing of IP 66 class, which guarantees full protection against adverse weather conditions and corrosive environments including industry. These compact constructions are also easy to install.

- possibility of seamless service for up to 200 users (Mikrotik lv.4),
- dynamic adjustment of connection speeds of the users,
- possibility of limiting maximum connection speed,
- possibility of limiting connection time of a single user (automatic disconnection),
- possibility of displaying commercials in specified time intervals,
- possibility of placing a custom home page (of the sponsor of the HotSpot),
- possibility of access scheduling,
- domain filtering,
- possibility of requesting authentication and authorization: user/password, mac (for paid hotspots),
- possibility of displaying information on login screen.

Example 3. ULTIAIR - ideal devices for transmission of video data.
Installation of a classical video surveillance system in a functioning parking lot is expensive and time-consuming. Usually, it also temporarily excludes some parts of the area from normal service. A modern and safe solution to the problems is wireless transmission. Application of ULTIAIR devices allows to install IP surveillance system very quickly. The camera points can be moved to other desired positions. This concept of mobile system allows to use it for surveillance of open-air mass events, fairs, monitoring of building sites, storage yards and warehouses etc.

Example 4. Wireless link with an intermediate point.
In many situations it is impossible to achieve a direct link between the locations that should be connected. However, lack of mutual visibility does not eliminate wireless technology. In most cases the solution is to create an intermediate node.
The system is a combination of two point-to-point links, where the second begins at the point where the first ends. The devices creating the intermediate node can be connected directly via Ethernet cable.
The links to user manuals of the devices are available on the ULTIAIR catalog pages.
The simplest point-to-point link requires ULTIAIR with license level 4 (Access Point) and ULTIAIR with license level 3 (Client). Of course, the link may also employ two ULTIAIR devices with license level 4.
There are many possible combinations of the devices that can be used. Example point-to-point configurations:
ULTIAIR 419KC N2300

- 30 Mbps in both directions - wireless link in a city's ISP network
The investor, Internet service provider in Krakow, required high performance and reliability of radio links, with high throughput in the whole backbone network. The main goal was broadband (30 Mbps) wireless connectivity to the central node and between the root node and branch nodes scattered in Nowa Huta district.
The contractor has chosen ULTIAIR devices. The wireless network allows to integrate the nodes of the system and ensures easy development of the infrastructure in the future. Everyday operation of the network confirms the guidelines - high throughput and stable work.

- ULTIAIR - integration of several hotel buildings in one efficient IP network
PUHiT - hotel and tourist services - "Krakow" Sp. z o. o. is a company with a long tradition. It has accommodation facilities, hotels, restaurants in Krakow, Zakopane, and Kroscienko. The company offers interesting and varied recreation, suited to the needs and requirements of the guests who can choose "Grand Felix" and "Felix" hotels, "Smok" and "Kameleon" student dormitories, and workers' hostels - all in Krakow, as well as "Boruta" Guest House in Zakopane and "Trzy Korony" Holiday Center in Krościenko.
The company management decided to modernize the existing wireless link that did not provide satisfactory stability of operation nor adequate throughput. The link connects the Grand Felix Hotel with the second Felix Hotel located about 500 m away.
Hotel Grand Felix Hotel has a 4Mbps DSL connection and two LANs. One of the LANs provides the guests (with the use of Access Points) with Internet access, the second LAN links computers at the reception desk, in the office, bars, telephone exchange etc. Stable connection with the second hotel allows to use another LAN there. The modernized system is based on ULTIAIR devices.
The modernization allows to increase throughput, improves stability and work comfort. Smooth operation of the network means fulfillment of design objectives - high stability and throughput of the wireless link.
