Details
ULTIMODE M-1G/SFP/ POE media converter with interchangeable fiber optic modules allows you to change the medium carrying the data stream from standard STP/UTP twisted pair cable to fiber optic cable via SFP module.
At the RJ-45 connector side, the media converter allows the connected device to be powered via PoE in 802.3af/at standard. This can be, for example, a CCTV camera, access point or switch.
ULTIMODE M-1G/SFP/POE media converter is equipped with an SFP slot, which makes it possible to work with multimode and single-mode optical fibers, depending on the selected SFP module. All optical transmission parameters depend on the selected SFP module. ULTIMODE M-1G/SFP/POE media converter works with SFP modules compatible with the IEEE 802.3z 1000Base-FX standard.
The media converter has built-in MDI/MDIX auto-detection, so it does not require the use of patch cables and automatically detects and sets the speed and mode of data transmission. It works based on the "store and forward" principle that validates all received data by calculating checksums.
The media converter is fully compatible with 10Base-T, 100Base-TX, 1000BaseTX/FX standards. The device is very easy to install and use (plug nad play). The LEDs on the device keep you informed of the media converter's operating status.
Thanks to interchangeable SFP modules, the device can be used in multimode optical networks for data transmission over two optical fibers (duplex) or in single-mode networks using WDM or CWDM transmission (simplex). The solution is especially cost effective when planning future expansion/modernization of the network (it is sufficient to exchange only the SFP module).
Key features:
- 1 Ethernet port 10/100/1000 Mbps on RJ-45
- SFP slot (IEEE 802.3z 1000Base-FX)
- PoE 802.3af/at
- LFP (Link Fault Pass-Through) function
- LEDs to indicate the correct operation of the device
- very easy installation (plug and play)
- power adapter included
Meaning of the LEDs on the front panel:

*LFP (Link Fault Pass-Through) – this feature allows for the transmission of fault information on a UTP link between media converters. In a properly configured network (SNMP protocol), this allows the administrator to monitor the link status and immediately respond if a failure occurs.
NOTICE!! It is not allowed to look directly at the fiber port when the device is plugged. The radiation invisible for the human eye can damage the retina!
TP-LINK MC220L is compliant with IEEE 802.3z 1000Base-FX standard, so it can cooperate with GbE SFP modules. We offer several GbE SFP transceivers:
