ULTIMODE SFP-405/3G LC fiber optic module - single-mode fiber up to 40 km

ULTIMODE SFP-405/3G LC series optical module works with one single-mode fiber to transmit data at speeds up to 1.25 Gbps over a distance of 40 kilometers.

Optical modules of ULTIMODE series compliant with the SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) standard are modules that convert an electrical signal into an optical fiber signal. ULTIMODE SFP-405/3G LC module works with a single single-mode optical fiber. This is possible due to the use of WDM technology, the so-called wave multiplication, which involves the transmission of independent signals at different wavelengths over a single fiber, which significantly reduces the cost of installation. The signal is transmitted at a rate of 1.25 Gbps. The maximum transmission range is 40 kilometers.

The signal is transmitted in the 3rd transmission window - 1550 nm, while it is received in the 3rd window - 1310 nm. The SFP-405/3G LC module works with the SFP-403/5G L1420 module, which transmits data in the II transmission window - 1310 nm, while it receives the signal transmitted in the III transmission window - 1550 nm.

SFP optical modules of the ULTIMODE series work with single-mode fibers terminated with LC-type connectors.

Gigabit (GbE) SFP modules of ULTIMODE series cooperate with media converters and majority of switches and routers with SFP slots (also with CISCO equipment) compatible with IEEE 802.3z 1000Base-FX standard. An example of media converter cooperating with such modules is M-100G/SFP L1301.

The use of media converters with the possibility of exchanging SFP modules is particularly advantageous when it comes to network configuration changes. Instead of replacing the entire unit/s, it is sufficient to exchange the SFP transceiver/s.
